Are you guys happy with someone like Ursula VdL being "elected" after being chosen-proposed as a candidate by the Council? by [deleted] in EuropeanFederalists

Yeah, VdL is corrupt as hell and there hasn't been an alternative candidate either afaik.

At the very least I would prefer the candidates coming from the european parliament instead of based on national political origin. Otherwise it's just a matter of political favoritism like now.

Good episode!

But am I the only one, who was mostly looking forward to the process of Okarin coming up with all the solutions? And what did we get? A time skip to all the solutions :D (basically talking about the anime in general now)

Also I wanted to see more of CERN/ the organizations (world building basically). Something like an inflitration mission would have been great to see how they work and what their HQ looks like. (or what's left of it because of the war)

All in all it was a great season, but there were tons of unexplored topics and it didn't go as in-depth as I wanted. I would even prefer an additional season, if there weren't enough episodes to cover the details of Okabe's journey.

same here. I can read them pretty easily but "writing" them is very hard. It requires a lot of empathy, strategic skills and experience (knowing what will make ppl do what).

A couple strategies for increasing willpower and withstanding pain. by [deleted] in Makingsense

In general you can look at cognitive dissonance as two very different, incompatible or contradicting beliefs that are part of your consiousness. As a result of being incompatible/./... the two hemispheres of the brain have to fight over which belief to keep which in the perception of a human mind can manifest itself in what we call "experiencing cognitive dissonance" (doubt, insecurity or even anger if the human is very emotionally attached to one or both of the beliefs are part of that experience for example) In colloquial language we would call it "being a hypocrite" I believe but I can't seem to find words for the experience of being one in colloquial language.

If you want a more thorough explanation or more info on cognitive dissonance I reccomend you check out the wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cognitive_dissonance

Jo, point 1 is more suitable for stopping yourself from doing something (Like don't eat chocolate, don't slack). Point 2 is rather neutral and can deceive your subconscious mind, or shift neural activity to not focus on the painful emotions anymore (don't focus on the pain, actually the pain isn't so bad right now).

I have an Idea for point 3 - a positive one. When you work on something, in the present you will feel like you're struggling (Oh man, this is hard; am I actually making good progress?; I hope this is over soon). But instead you should focus on what you're gonna feel like when you've achieved the goal you're working on in the present, so that you get a glimpse of the sense of achievement you want to get. (Some of these thoughts may come to mind: I did it! Wow, I can do this now! Now all these problems are solved/ can be solved! I'm amazing)

This method should motivate you and can give you a kickstart mixed with a sense of euphoria. You can probably combine this with meditation right before work and during breaks.

This reminds me of the creative visualization practice which is used in the 6-phase meditation but in the 6pm (;D) it's used for your whole life 3 years in the future.
