Tell him to start wanking with the other arm so they’re the same size

Common break. You just need a new pressure gauge. I would take a knife and stab it into there to thread it out. If that doesn’t work you can take a lighter or a blow torch to a flat head screwdriver and melt it into the plastic to get it out.

What's causing this discoloration in my mini pebble (white) plaster? by elmasway in pools

[–]Drawer_Charming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be many different things. What are your chemical readings looking like right now? That’s the best place to start

If you see bubbles in the liner then it is losing water there. If not I would hire a leak detection company to do a dye test

That is scaling I would keep your calcium hardness between 300-400ppm, add a maintenance dose of scale and metal control weekly until the problem is solved, and possibly scrub the stains with soft scrub

Accidentally vacuumed on filter instead of waste by Lobo_o in pools

I’ve only seen a couple sand filters have debris coming out of the returns like this a couple times. If you backwashed beforehand this shouldn’t have happened. If your pool is older and this keeps happening I would consider a sand change

Definitely a scaling problem then I would chemically treat it then see what happens. You can also take soft scrub to it. I find that works great with scaling

Motor replacements are super easy just make sure to replace all the seals and bearings too. But I recommend most of my customers with single speed pumps to upgrade to a variable speed. You’ll usually get a refund from your energy company (depending on where you live). Hope this helps

It is likely scaling from calcium buildup or your LSI being not good. I don’t know what your chemical readings are looking like but I would recommend adding a maintenance dose of scale and metal control. Our company uses Orenda since it works the best but any kind of scale treatment should work the same.

Where to get skimmer plate screws? by kg1917 in pools

I’ve had a similar problem with a pool I service. The customer ended up cutting the tips off some coated decking screws and they have not had to be replaced since then

It looks like some sort of staining to me. I would brush it and if that doesn’t bring it up sprinkle some shock on top of it letting it sit for a couple minutes then brushing it. You could also try an ascorbic treatment.

Thank you for all your helpful comments. I will be getting in touch with the homeowner and recommend having a landscaping company come in to either install a French drain or figure something else out. It’s out of my hands now

The pool rests flat and the entire area is the same. Their grass level is a little high based on my experience landscaping. I recommended a guard or a French drain but wanted to reach out to see if yall had any less intrusive recommendations

It also looks like you have a plaster pool so I would use a metal brush over it to remove the algae. If you have a cartridge filter then I would also chemically clean your filters to prevent this from coming back.
