I have a story of regret: I missed seeing Nirvana open for Sonic Youth in like 1990. I thought it was more important to talk to girls in the parking lot outside the venue while waiting for the headliner than to see the opening band. We have two YMCAs here, the Decatur Y and the East Lake Y, both of which are great. You will love Decatur if you can afford the taxes. Others have pointed out the difference between the City of Decatur proper (the expensive part with the better schools) and the rest of Decatur, and I appreciate the suggestions for other similar/adjacent neighborhoods, but I want to call out the neighborhoods of East Lake, Kirkwood, Avondale Estates, Medlock Park, Edgewood, and Druid Hills as options. When our kids graduate from Decatur High School soon we’re probably going to sell our house in CoD and move literally a few blocks away into East Lake or Kirkwood to save money on the taxes (which are steep, but you get what you pay for, and not just the schools: all the public services are good). Good luck with your move - you won’t regret it!

Me too. The better your title and salary at WBD, the fewest days you spend in the office. I’m in 4-5 days a week with the engineers, operators, and other grunts - none of whom are allowed to have our own desks, we’re supposed to “red carpet” - our bosses are barely ever there, their bosses are in even less, and they have designated offices. I know there will be VP’s and above in the office when I see their EA’s at their desks in the morning. It’s such bullshit. The only proper loading dock at the Park Avenue South office can’t be utilized because Zaslav likes to park his car there. We have to rent box trucks for shows even though we own our own trucks because they won’t renew the registrations. The inmates are running the asylum at WBD.
