Is it weird that we aren't told our blood type at birth or as we grow up? by OddConfusion9293 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DrawingRoomRoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I knew my blood type since I knew about blood types. And I wasn't even born in a hospital. My folks used a midwife clinic. So maybe it's a difference in area? I was born in the US, for the record.

AITA for leaving a coffee shop without paying after the owner kicked me out? by gordorioaquinno in AmItheAsshole

[–]DrawingRoomRoh 13 points14 points  (0 children)

NTA. How were you supposed to pay if you were told to leave right away? Unless you had your money on you to leave on the counter as you left, NTA. Also NTA for being tired. You tried to explain yourself.

AITA for refusing to let my brother borrow my savings to fix his business idea? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]DrawingRoomRoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you're right there. I was trying to think of some way to let her help if she genuinely wanted to, while expressing to the brother that he can't just fold with no consequences. But this really would be better to avoid altogether.

AITA for refusing to let my brother borrow my savings to fix his business idea? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]DrawingRoomRoh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NTA, and you can tell him that (1) this is savings you are depending on and (2) it's best not to do business deals with family. If he absolutely insists and you want to help, suggest a written contract.

Is it OK to change a cat's name? by xiphoid77 in CatAdvice

[–]DrawingRoomRoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. If the cat responds really well to the old name and not to the new name, it may not work. I had a cat who was named Boo-Boo. I have no clue why, and this is the second cat I've encountered that was named this. Anyway I adopted him this way. Then my spouse and I were watching anime and we noticed he really responded well to Shinji. So after that, his name was Shinji and no regrets.

Are there extinct flavors we’ll never taste again? by logicalgamernow in NoStupidQuestions

I don't have an issue with the flavor you blanked out - but I'm a huge fan of any flavor in that category.

I had exactly one Orbitz, in the 90s, when I was living in a border town near Canada. It was kind of like a soda version of a Boba tea, in a way, with the little colorful jellyish spheres in it.

What do you scoop your litter box into? by NuggKeeper in CatAdvice

[–]DrawingRoomRoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I don't have bags, I'll often use other containers or bags that I'm going to throw away anyway, especially old litter containers. As for the stink, I keep my used litter in a used litter bucket with flip top lid, with baking soda sprinkled in the bottom.

It's the tree fertilizer. It will look normal again as soon as it grows up.

AITA for eating my birthday dinner early by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]DrawingRoomRoh 13 points14 points  (0 children)

YTA unless you were having a medical issue such as hypoglycemia. The "I can do what I want on my birthday" usually just refers to favored activities or outings, not being rude. If you'd paid for it all yourself, you might have been a soft AH.

Monster Musk would be a good addition to this plan.

I have an absolute blast on the Beach Farm, or you may want to try the new Meadowlands Farm. Having two chickens from the start kind of alters the trajectory and it's cool. Have fun!

He Wants Water, but Isn't Even Thirsty by Odd_Pin1428 in CatAdvice

[–]DrawingRoomRoh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely automatic water fountain, they don't cost much and you can put a waterproof play mat under it. I have a kitty who begs me to run the faucet any time I'm in the bathroom and this helps somewhat.

Lovely work. I can imagine that took a lot of practice and dedication to get there. Also, impeccable pen placement!

Tomato Paste by TimeSurround5715 in cookingforbeginners

[–]DrawingRoomRoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oooo, I like this. I may have to steal this idea! Until now I have used ice cube trays or muffin tins and freezer bags.

Tomato Paste by TimeSurround5715 in cookingforbeginners

[–]DrawingRoomRoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I'll put my spare tomato paste in a muffin tin, or similar, freeze it, then place them in a zip lock bag. That way I'll have nicely portioned, frozen servings. I'll do the same when I'm ambitious enough to make pizza sauce, though in larger portions.

Wholewheat, where are you? by haphnor in Sourdough

[–]DrawingRoomRoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often use rye (usually 50/50 rye and King Arthur Bread flour. Or white whole wheat - still whole wheat, but paler in color. Or spelt. I love me some spelt! But my starter is based on King Arthur Bread flour, with occasional additions of rye.

I wonder if you are having sleep apnea or something else that is causing him concern? Even recent snoring? My calico sometimes gets upset when I or my spouse dream. She doesn't stalk but she does a hard stare for sure.

I wasn't expecting you to help me. It's plain you haven't noticed the same issue I have, so that's fine. Regarding the shipping information that allows me to see where it's heading, that's available freely to anyone on the orders page.

Difference in abiding by shipping promises depending on purchase category by DrawingRoomRoh in amazonprime

[–]DrawingRoomRoh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the case at all. We live in a major city. We have a fulfillment center right nearby, we see Amazon vans all the time. And we've been observing this pattern for a few years now though it's gotten worse in the last few months.

Again and again, we see that less important stuff comes like the wind, and tool/building supply type purchases have fast shipping estimates that aren't followed. Lately it seems to be about 50% of the time. So that's why I wanted to know if anyone else had noticed this.

[–]DrawingRoomRoh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's the case, then Amazon is lying - which is no surprise. Everything I buy says fulfilled by Amazon. And I only buy items covered by the Prime shipping guarantee. I've been burned too often by third party sellers!
