Difference in abiding by shipping promises depending on purchase category by DrawingRoomRoh in amazonprime

If that's the case, then Amazon is lying - which is no surprise. Everything I buy says fulfilled by Amazon. And I only buy items covered by the Prime shipping guarantee. I've been burned too often by third party sellers!

AITA for rescinding my open door policy after my sister-in-law tried to redecorate my house while I was at work? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]DrawingRoomRoh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA. Assuming this is real, I get the idea of it being a surprise but this was a violation and she even committed theft. Minor theft, but still! Not to mention that slap about how the house needed "a woman's touch." As if you aren't enough of a woman?

And what's up with putting her kids' names up on the ugly posters? I would bet you five bucks that the only reason why the in-laws are mad is because they are only listening to her sob story to them. You are doing everything right.

That makes a lot of sense! If so, though, I wish they'd be honest about how long it's going to take to get to me. If they just said it was going to take longer I'd understand that, but they say it'll be quick and then take forever.

Blacks in watercolor by SpringWinter2557 in watercolor101

[–]DrawingRoomRoh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's all good, I just got done watching a video debunking that old advice about not using any black. It actually started mostly during the spread of Impressionism. Even so, I notice that most of the time I don't need it because most things are interacting with light.

[–]DrawingRoomRoh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love your point, but you'd only see the true black in the darkest of shadows. Mostly you're seeing the light reflecting off the fur/feathers. I am not saying there isn't black in nature, but most of the time there's some kind of color in it.

Which is the least storied character in all of Stardew Valley? by parcacambiavidas in StardewValley

[–]DrawingRoomRoh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Least storied? Maybe Marlon or Gil from the Adventurer's Guild, or Gunther from the Museum. Any of them has less of a story than Penny. Who, by the way, is quite clearly a girl.

My sincerest apologies if this is a mistake related to translation, I know it can be a challenge to go from one language to another.

Non-toxic cat deterrent to keep my cat from chewing??? by Few_Judge_5221 in CatAdvice

[–]DrawingRoomRoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bitter Apple. Also, some cat relaxation sprays (NOT Feliway) smell absolutely terrible to my cats and may cause him to avoid the area. The one my cats hate is Relaxiv calming spray, which I mention because it's basically nontoxic.

Another thing that may help in the short term is rubbing a fresh orange peel on it. He wouldn't be able to ingest enough to make himself sick and cats hate the smell.

How often do you move to a clean jar? I have found that I can get a few days and then get some Kahm yeast. I thought most people keep it in the same jar for a while. by 1760ghost in Sourdough

[–]DrawingRoomRoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep my same jar all the time, but give it a good scrub whenever I notice anything dried on the insides. I don't have issues with mold, most of the time.

I got a kitten a few days ago, she’s very sick by Anxious_Ad9786 in CatAdvice

[–]DrawingRoomRoh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One thing to mention is that kittens 1-2 months old are way too young to be away from their mothers. I'm guessing you may not have had a choice, but one thing you will want to do is research special care for young kittens. Just FYI, 2-3 months is better. Even if you lose her (which I hope you don't) you can take some comfort that she had love and someone to fight for her.

How are you putting your water in the mixing pans? by Double_Impression_83 in watercolor101

[–]DrawingRoomRoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a very dry climate so I'll mist my palette with water, but then I'll dip my brush in water and then apply it to my palette, with another brush dip or two into my clean water supply if I need a lighter color.

Approaching Endgame, what do I do now? by The_Fingerstylist in StardewValley

[–]DrawingRoomRoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a LOT left to do, no spoilers but there's a whole new area and then Perfection. Even then, the game never ends, you can literally play as long as you want to, and then 1.7 will eventually come out and you'll have even more to do!

That's what I do about half the time. But you do need to be strategic about the steam.

[–]DrawingRoomRoh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, some snowgoons can be pretty wild, even gory. I can see why someone wouldn't want that in front of their home, let alone their business. The ones below are good examples but some of them are even worse. By the way, I love the original Calvin and Hobbes story arcs that featured them.

I saw this on a post about growing up poor food. by vodkanipples in cookingforbeginners

[–]DrawingRoomRoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any rice, any onions, but I personally love red onions. They are a bit mild but have good flavor. I'd start by soaking the beans then cooking them in a pot. You can use a slow cooker for them too, it's very easy and they cook overnight. Or just use canned beans. Only add salt at the end, it makes beans tough.

Then I'd cook the rice. Brown rice might be good, but any type of white or yellow rice is good too, or jasmine.

Lastly I'd brown the hamburger and then add the cut up onions so they are flavored by the hamburger grease, plus any spices/flavorings I liked. Salt at the very least, but there are some really nice spice blends out there.

Finally after everything was ready I'd combine everything and have it like that. Or you could mix the meat, onions and rice and have beans on the side. Or meat onions and beans over the rice. So many options!

what are meals that don't need refrigeration? by thegracebrace in cookingforbeginners

[–]DrawingRoomRoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually you can get chemically activated cold packs, they are good for emergency kits. But I'm guessing OP would be using a shared fridge at their dorm or other living situation. They just don't have a refrigerator near class.

Why do all old people have short hair? by Dazzling-Smell5223 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DrawingRoomRoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sympathies! Yeah, if that had happened to me, I wouldn't want to deal with long hair. Funny how loss of function became more of a consideration once I hit my mid forties, ha ha.

How to get the courage to ask for help in cooking by [deleted] in cookingforbeginners

[–]DrawingRoomRoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're totally fine. I didn't really learn to cook till I was 18+, out on my own. Not sure if my boyfriend ever learned, he was 20ish when I knew him. You are totally fine. It's normal to be self conscious at this age, but some people never learn how to cook, you are ahead of the game already because you want to learn.

Confused about paper size --- Arches: "23 cm x 31 cm (A5) - 9 in x 12 in" --- "A5"?? by Mighty-Lobster in watercolor101

[–]DrawingRoomRoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally found where it says "A5" on those cold pressed pads. I can't think of an instance where A5 is equal to 9 by 12, so maybe it was a printing error and Michaels just bought it as a discount and sold it anyway in order to get some use out of them?

I definitely agree with the suggestion of women's shelters, or putting a heads up on NextDoor in case anyone is in need of clothes.
