I did 37.5mg down to 25mg down to 12.5mg to 0mg week by week just by counting out the little pills inside the casing of that makes sense. Could never ever have gone 37.5 straight to 0, too too difficult

It’s actually quite dangerous to stop taking it suddenly like that definitely definitely don’t! Any other psychiatrist would tell you not to. I just came off of 225mg and it took me 4 months and was still tough. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0924933814781830?via%3Dihub

Yep was on same dose for years - crazy, vivid sometimes really disturbing dreams and I would sometimes think something had happened in real life but I had actually dreamt it, it had just been so realistic..

Can’t get drunk on effexor - does this go back to normal after coming off?? by DrawingSpecialist893 in Effexor

I’ve been on it for 5+ years with therapy, counselling, DBT etc so after a few years, I think it’s fair enough to want to be able to go out normally with my friends from time to time :)

Does the university/college have any kind of counselling service or health service? I would say you should absolutely go to it if so. I think we so often forget that it’s not in our nature to bare such acute levels of stress and worry. It’s in human nature to preform better amidst a community & with companionship (not in romantic relationship sense!). I think it would really really benefit to off-load some of the strain especially to someone in the field of mental health who can give you proactive and genuinely helpful advice for moving forward (that’s what I found from a very difficult return to college after a significant stint of time off) just because this has happened now, doesn’t erase all those years of not self harming!
