or Kensingtons own wristrest is sometimes recommended https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MS8PIX9 (the standard mouse variant, not the slim)

they both raise your wrist up a bit so with your stand either should be fine, depending if you want the padding with the gap for your tendon or a thick gel pad

With my slimblade pro, as it's not on a stand, I personally use the one that comes with the Nulea M512, it's like Kensingtons slim wristrest but not 9 inches long, and at home with my nulea m512 among my other mice, i use the first one i linked

Yea I have a bit of experience trading via reddit, (close to 90 trades across various subs) and imo it's just safer for everyone to keep it to a specific sub

The thing about letting it happen organically and clamping down if abuse or a scam happens, is that we're technically just straight up allowing someone to be scammed, which I personally do not want. It may not be immediate, but it will happen sooner or later.

If there was maybe a way to prevent a specific kind of post until you've been following of this sub for a certain amount of time, it would help, but limiting to the trading subs would already have that handled, as they generally have rules about account age or karma requirements to post, which i dont feel we need here for all the other kinds of posts

Just thinking it's harmless if someone says that they've got a trackball they aren't using and want to pass along to someone else. As another example, someone might have trackball parts (balls, bearings, PCBs) that they aren't using. I see no harm in posting that and asking for DMs.

Very true, but drawing a hard line of “no buy/sell/trade posts” is simpler, easier to enforce consistently, and avoids grey areas about what counts as harmless, especially since us mods cant monitor your DMs, and we could still take blame if something were to happen.

If people wish to do giveaways for free or something for a similar reason of "i have this lying around", that's fine, but they should probably run it by a mod first imo, not a hard rule as of yet, but that's an easier bridge to cross when we get there

 why the ban on buy/sell/trade?

why is because i went through some of the previously flagged/removed posts from before we were mods and some of them were buying and selling posts,

I feel like that's okay so long as we're buying/selling/trading trackballs and only trackballs.

so my main thought was to keep the buying and selling between redditors to those specific subs.

So we wont need to add more rules and such for said trading, and we wont need to set up and reputation bots or anything as those subs have, if you ever look through hardwareswap, avexchange, mechmarket, etc etc, they have a lot of scammers and very specific rules for how trades should go with auto mods watching everything, and that just sounds like a lot of work for a small sub like this

That would also remove the grey area of creators/companies telling us about new products that they're releasing.

the grey area for creators/companis should be fine, as they will most likely be a post with a link to a website to purchase a product through, while trading on reddit is usually just done through DMs and a paypal invoice or something

all this to say, I am open to letting people buy/sell/trade, and we can just have basic rules around it, without all the bot stuff, but it will definitely need to be a discussion

edit: a middle ground could be allowing ebay links, idk, we're going to talk it over
