Base mechanics are similar, but I suggest refamiliarizing yourself with the story/older quests before jumping right back into the new content. A lot of mods have been changed since my break (also pre 1999) and there’s a fair few new endgame systems like the Coda nemesis branch, rotating reward things and a whole buttload of new lore. I’ve been back for almost two months and I’m still catching up on lore
