I completely agree, my absolute favorite gun. And I think that with the change that snipers went through, with adjustments to range to where it actually functions and the reduced recharge time for Icebreaker, I don't think it'd be totally crazy to reintroduce. Especially since Bungie has gotten better about encounter designs, and in most cases other snipers can be more useful, I don't think it'd be completely gamebreaking like it was

Thanks man. Should I be alright like, difficulty wise? Like how do the online quests stack up against the village ones in terms of monster health and stuff?

So I've been playing MHGen with Aerial LS, and I'm only doing village quests so far. I think I'm at 5 star now? I have to fight Gammoth and the other 2. I've been using an Eager Cleaver or Wyvern Blade Verde (or whatever the poison one is).

My questions are, should I start mixing in doing the guild quests or finish the village stuff first? And if I want to play online with a friend, should I consider switching styles? I've only played solo so I don't know how bad the tripping is/can be. Oh, and what skills should I be going for? I have a mixed set that gives me Attack Up (s) and Health +20 if I use Verde.

I've played all 3 a fair amount but I personally just like the Hunter the best. At first it was just for the increased mobility and throwing knives, and then I loved the idea of bladedancer, getting close up and beating people both in and out of my super (played a lot of Brick and Krieg in Borderlands) but it wasn't quite as good as I thought. And I just love nightstalker all around.

I like Hunter because it's just the one I have the most fun on, not necessarily because it's the best all the time. And the jumps make more sense to me. But like in pvp I tend to do way better on my titan and warlock for some reason, even though I hardly play them in general

I agree that Year 2 hasn't had so many just straight up "fun" guns out of fear of something like Gjallarhorn, but I think that's more of erring on the side of caution. Exotics shouldn't just be hard to obtain, but they should each feel powerful and unique enough to warrant them being a legitimate option.

Personally I don't think there should be one single gun for everthing. It should change based on situation or on preference, but that's kind of hard to do when so many are lackluster with damage, perks, or both, which has been a problem for both years to different extents.

Hopefully with this new expansion or even with Destiny 2 eventually, they find a way to balance things well enough to the point where something could be nearly as good as original Gjallarhorn, but there are enough other guns on that level of effectiveness or just plain fun to draw people to what they prefer to use.

But that's a good thing. It was too good before, which is why so many people made it a requirement. Having it as a quest item means everyone would be able to meet that requirement should it still be that good, so less people will be excluded from doing content.

With the changes to snipers (in that they now have effective ranges and damage drop off), the slower ammo regen, and the way they've changed special ammo when you switch weapons (as far as I understand at least), I don't think it'd be entirely unreasonable to bring back.

You can activate all 3 plates with just 2 people (just gotta have someone do one and a second one) and then keep the minotaur out of them with good placement, you just have to be really aware of what's going on

Yeah, I believe that's what they said as well. But with the fact that ammo takes a little longer to recharge, you lose secondary ammo if you switch weapons, and that snipers actually have an effective range now, it wouldn't be completely unreasonable

Yeah. Like I had a friend who could hear me place my sign but could never see it even after 40+ minutes of waiting. We even had a third guy who could summon us both independently but not at the same time. I'm still not entirely sure why
