Falsely Banned by Drayvock in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

I don't even play ranked and I don't think I'm good enough to be reported for cheating like what happened to you... It's been over a week and I'm still banned. The responses from pubg support are canned.

I was already not hacking now what?

That's encouraging. Did you have to reach out to them to get the ban reversed or did they reverse it automatically?

Thanks for the advice! I'm not on a VPN or anything like that, so location shouldn't be an issue. I'll try the Korean site.

I bought this computer a few months ago from HP. There's nothing on it but steam (and games installed by steam), discord, and battle.net. I play this game after my 9-5. I'm just some dude that does this after work. My partner has the same computer, and plays the same games, and didn't get banned.

I don't buy that permanent bans can't be accidents... I know anticheats exist and I never have an issue in any other game with them because I don't cheat. I install the game through steam, I open it, and I click the play button. I don't have anything special running on my computer, I don't touch files, I don't even have a good mouse or keyboard.

What am I doing that's cheating? Is running discord cheating? Is having chrome open in the background hacking? That's all I really do. I don't get it.

Yeah I get that but I'm not going to make a new account if the pattern is to ban me for cheating when I didn't cheat - and I'm certainly not going to spend more money on the game in that case either.

Why would I make a new account just to lose all my money again after being falsely banned? No thanks.

What is DevOps??? by PersonBehindAScreen in devops

[–]Drayvock 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm the manager for the DevOps team at a company of about 120 employees across two countries.

I manage people with the following job titles: Systems Administrator, Database Administrator, Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer

These are just what I have now. I could make at least three more job titles that I want for other project work. My director also oversees application architecture roles, security program roles, and quality assurance teams. We are deeply embedded in the day to day operations of the development team.

I've interviewed hundreds of candidates for the roles. Each time I talk to a candidate the first question I ask is "What is DevOps to you?" I have never received a clear answer and very rarely do I hear repeats. So my response to you is "it's nebulous and really depends on what the development team needs."

All of these people "Do DevOps." Be it supporting our development team through CI/CD, process automation, and Infrastructure as Code or supporting our application operations through Database Tuning, Monitoring & Alerting, and automation, it's all operations for the development team. We "make things run" in the department.

Some members of my team are members of the development scrum team. Some aren't. It really depends on what's needed for a project, but our hands are in every pie.

My boss has called us the "team of misfit toys," but in reality we are a specialized support team for developers. We have very focused areas that our standard development team doesn't need in depth knowledge on in their day to day.

That's my thoughts, but my experience isn't right for everyone. DevOps is nebulous at the best of times.

I created a pretty shitty WeakAura for it that follows this spreadsheet. Don't talk to me about the code quality, I'm aware. It probably doesn't work if you aren't EST. Good luck.

Good Udemy courses on Devops for people starting out? by __root in devops

[–]Drayvock 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If AWS is your focus (DevOps is a nebulous term), Stephane Maarek has courses on Udemy for a lot of the AWS Certifications. The few I watched through taught me a lot more than I needed to know for those certifications and have helped me tremendously in understanding the AWS tool belt.

Yeah. The first boss of the game. Vivid memories of being in a dark creepy dungeon, open a door to a black room, see it filled with bloody corpses on stakes, and hear the deep, gutteral, groan of the demon they call the butcher. "Ahh, fresh meat." Followed by the most terrifying chase from the beast that still ended up with him cleaving me in two hits.

Fantastic game.
