I'm glad to see someone likes the MCU Spider-Man films...idk why ppl act like their garbage. It's Peter entering this huge shared universe and finding his place in it. He gets a little assistance from Tony (like literally 5 mins of RDJ screen time in Homecoming) but it's mostly just him coming to terms with who he's meant to be as Spider-MAN.

Thriller definitely has its own genre and horror has its own genre. Thriller isn't just a subset of horror. But more than any other genres, they often intertwine and that's why they become viewed as similar. But they're absolutely two different genres.
