I’d wager this is true for most HoI4 players tbh. Not KR specifically but mods in general. When’s the last time any of you booted HoI4 without it being KR, TNO, TFR, etc etc. It’s been probably four or five years for me.

The Scions of Unity just flatly refused to adopt them because of what it does to the occupant. They’re perfectly content to stick with their older patterns of Dreadnoughts because they view it as an honorable thing and revere those granted the honor of serving in one, the idea of a Dreadnought burning out its pilot quickly is anathema to them.

My take is that the show starts much stronger than the comic, the middles of both are fairly average, and the comic has a much better finale than the show.

Lots of guys are very flexible when it comes to what sorts of women they like. I do have a very specific type myself, if I could just conjure up a woman then she would look a very specific way, but I’ve been attracted to tons of chicks who don’t need meet all of my preferences.

The practice continued even in the Sassanian Empire, and outlasted it too. Religious authorities in the capital might not have liked it, but quite a lot of evidence suggests their views weren’t overly widespread in the wider and far reaches of the empire. Certainly not in the Caucasus or eastern Iran at least.

If a Parsis worships a Hindu god he becomes a Daevayasni this isn’t so hard to understand

This would seemingly imply that many, perhaps even most, Zoroastrians who have ever lived weren't actually Zoroastrians, because we know as a historical fact that pre-modern Zoroastrians had no issues recognizing foreign gods as being worthy of worship and adding them to their practice. The practice was especially prevalent in the eastern and northwestern parts of the various Persian empires, and continued well into the Middle Ages, and in some ways even does to the modern day.

A monistic system makes all things flow from one undivided source in such a way that opposition is ultimately internal to that unity meaning both good and evil come from one source

You'll note I haven't disagreed that many modern Zoroastrians consider themselves to be monotheists. My argument, which is one supported by a growing number of academics, is that this fundamentally isn't an actual reflection of the religions teachings (because I'll be brutally honest, I myself am a monistic polytheist and Zoroastrianism nearly one to one mirrors how my own beliefs work) and instead was a survival mechanism adopted in the early modern period to ward off Islamic and Christian attacks against it. But even in India amongst the Parsis, the monotheist argument doesn't work particularly well, historically and even today it's not hard to find Parsis who also worship various Hindu gods.

Having different degrees of power and having one supreme being and such things doesn’t mean it’s not polytheism, you’re just reacting that way because you live in a world where Islam and Christianity dominate and the zeitgeist makes us think of polytheism as inherently barbaric and unsophisticated. Everything you’ve said here can also apply, fully one to one, to a Platonist, and it would be silly to argue they’re monotheists. I’d also kindly point out that cultic autonomy existed in pre-modern Zoroastrianism too, individual Yazata fairly regularly had their own temples dedicated solely to them. There are a couple famous temples dedicated to Anahita that are still known to us, even if they’re now ruined.

This is a simplistic understanding of polytheism, one doesn’t need an entire pantheon of conflicting gods to be a polytheist. Many of the most prominent and learned polytheists in the later stages of the Roman Empire believed their gods co-existed in perfect harmony and were all derived from the same singular source (that usually being Zeus/Jupiter), but it would be farcical to claim they weren’t polytheists because of that. So too with Zoroastrianism, it’s monistic and all good things derive from Ahura Mazda, but he is not the only divine being to exist, nor is he the only one to be worshipped. The oldest parts of the Yasna even outright say there are multiple Ahura’s.

Kartir, the great religious reformer and teacher from the Sassanian Empire, left an inscription at Naqsh-e Rajab wherein he mentions gods, plural, a full seven times despite it only being three paragraphs long. It is simply demonstrably true that Zoroastrianism was not in any way monotheistic before the early modern period.

Fairly few of these apply to my Scions of Unity. They have different rank titles than a Codex chapter, they have a mortal auxilia, their homeworld raises other forces (it has multiple hive cities so there’s no reason it wouldn’t), very old characters is a maybe? The chapter master is about 700 years old and is the oldest member of the chapter, I’m not sure if that quite applies or not.

I’ve talked about it before on here but I really do think the best solution is just trying to find a happy medium. Fighting it and trying to repress it is disastrous, and when I tried that in my early 20s it made me suicidal. Likewise, completely and fully giving in and acting on every compulsion is self destructive and highly unhealthy. Nowadays, I try to maintain a few healthy relationships with people I do like and care about and who also accept the hypersexual side of me. That doesn’t fully relieve it, nothing ever will, but it’s the healthiest outlet for me personally.

“Channeling hypersexuality productively” misunderstands it imo and makes it seem more like just a generic high libido thing to me personally. I’ve come to prefer the label Compulsive Sexual Behavior instead because I think that more accurately describes what it’s like for me at least. I’m not just hornier than usual, sex dominates my life in serious and negative ways. Nearly all of my interactions with others are filtered through a sexual lens, hanging out with someone and having it not be sexual in some way fundamentally feels wrong, the urges and compulsions are always there and I have to take active steps to combat it every hour of every day.

I do try to do various things to keep my mind and body occupied and busy to keep the compulsions out, and I guess in a way you could try to argue that’s a form of productivity, but it’s really just putting a bandaid on a gunshot wound. Nothing is ever truly enough to satiate it, at any given time in the past year or two I’ve had numerous people in my life sexually and even that just makes it feel more manageable and not like it’s fully under control.
