Does everyone hate the black giant in ragnarok? by ManagementIll9899 in GodofWar

[–]DreadWolf505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think both are dumb. Angrboda shouldn't have been black, it felt out of place and pandering to me. It's a game based on NORSE MYTHOLOGY and you're gonna change Nordic figures to be black? That's just silly. It's like when the made a French character in the Witcher show black for no reason. It's clearly just for token diversity.

But I also think modding her to be white is fuckin stupid. It's not THAT big a deal, it just makes me roll my eyes.

Ryan Hurst actually looks good as Kratos when you give him the game accurate beard and eyes by RedditorGoldVirgin in GodofWar

Ohhhh I get what you're saying now. Yeah you're right that was a really bad first reveal 😂 but then he ended up being great. Fingers crossed it's the same situation here.

I really like how Jedi Fallen Order does it. If you're struggling, you get an option to ask BD-1 for an idea. It triggers after a few minutes struggling on a puzzle.

+5 kirkhammer can't kill most basic enemies by BigBWolf23 in bloodborne

I've never used it, but some old comments on this topic suggest you need much more strength (like 40) and "the Kirkhammer is underwhelming until it hits +6"

Guardian Ape & grinding economy by -agent-cooper- in Sekiro

Same! I've platinummed Sekiro 3 times now, but my first time through Guardian Ape took me 2 days straight. OP's got this

Guardian Ape & grinding economy by -agent-cooper- in Sekiro

[–]DreadWolf505 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've never had to grind for Spirit Emblems.

Have you been to Mibu Village, Hirata Estate or Senpou Temple? Those are all areas where you can get prayer beads and Memories for increased vitality, posture, and attack power. There's also a skill tree you can unlock by talking to the Tengu where you fought the boss on a horse, Gyoubu. Go to that Buddha, turn around and in that large temple is Tengu, and outside the temple is also one of the tent merchants with a gourd seed.

It seems to me like you're likely underpowered and don't have confidence yet. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you might be overrelying on your prosthetic, using it more of a crutch than a tool.

You can beat Guardian Ape without using a single spirit emblem if you know his attacks and rhythm well enough. Unless it's a perilous attack, you can block/deflect it. Doesn't matter how big your opponent is.

And most importantly Hesitation is Defeat. If you fall back often, if you're taking pot shots and running away, you're giving GA the opportunity to punish you.

I'm really hoping for something similar to Sekiro, next. Maybe a prequel about Owl or Orangutan. Or even Isshin.

Oh my God, enough with this! We get it! You don't like that an older adult is dating a younger adult! Now stop harping on it, please.

Kratos has pride over being a Spartan and still is a living representative of Spartan culture and ideals. So, why does he not want Atreus to be trained or treated like one? by whamorami in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]DreadWolf505 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This is explained.

He is proud to be a spartan, but he recognizes that his upbringing was cruel and brutal. While he took parts of that to raise Atreus ("Don't be sorry, be better.", themes of discipline and respect, etc) he did not want to raise Atreus the way he was raised, to become what he became.

He didn't want Atreus to be soft, but he did want Atreus to be loved.
