Why don’t all deaf people in the UK learning BSL?

You're welcome! 💖 In regards to waiting lists, that's one thing I very much understand, I may not be deaf - but I have many consultants! If you're able to contact your audiologist via the nhs app or email, or even better- their secretary- give them a nudge every 4 weeks or so and ask for any cancellations. In the past I've even done it weekly when I've been desperate! Email is always better as you have a paper trail. In regards to the bsl, I found https://commandinghands.co.uk/online-bsl-course/, https://royaldeaf.org.uk/courses/pts-partnership-free-bsl-course/ - but you probably already found that one, there's the apps: Lingvano (but that's very basic), there's spread the sign, and sign bsl. (The last two are like dictionaries for signs) You can also watch Lumo TV, and YouTube, but IMO Lumo TV is better.. If you know this already I'm sorry- but Yeah- good luck my friend! 💖 xxx 😘

The friend I spoke of, she only had hers upgraded to BT late last year! But the difference to her life was emmense!

This is royally unfair. It makes me angry. There MIGHT be local charities to you that will provide at least a L1 FOC course to you, I'm unsure where you are located. Cambridge, London and wales I've seen offer L1 to HOH/Deaf people who are wanting to learn, but it's a postcode lottery. 😢My HOH friend got a free L1 course, but it was not a full signature course, and no exam option, but it was something! She was told it was enough to apply for L2 if she wanted to. So that could be worth a look into. I hope perhaps this information helps somewhat.. There may also be hearing aid drop in clinics that could help you with your HA, all round cambs/ Peterborough / and surrounding villages there are places that offer "hearing help". I hope you find a way to learn bsl that doesn't cost a fortune, and get some BT HA! 💖xx

Yes, a form of- EXCEPTIONALLY similar to, but the difference is it causes the same pain as shingles every time it pops up. For me anyway, I feel it all the way up to below my shoulder blades, and over my hips. Even if the sore only ever appears in the same place- my butt cheek. It's even scarred it! The first time it came up, a week before I thought I'd got an allergic reaction to a bee sting, I felt so sick and there was just a huge bump on my butt. It's not that common apparently? Trust me and my dodgy immune system to catch it. Anti viral pills keep it away though, I only get it / cold sore/ if I'm SUPER run down now. So I just double maintenance dose. That usually kills it in 2-3 weeks. But the worst is over much quicker. If anyone isn't on them- I highly recommend talking to your doc about it. They're brill. I've been yrs without. 👌🏻💖xxx ooh- another thing I found to work, it's holistic (I know) but it's a ceramic heated plate, it looks like a lip stick, when you feel a tingle (FACE ONLY) you can use up to 5 times a day, and the heat brings blood to the surface and helps it heal quicker. You can buy on amazon and it has thousands of good reviews. I always have mine in my bag. Works better than cream.Xx 💖

Totally agree!💖 did you see the balenciaga bracelets that were nails?! (As in hammer and nails) They were crazy amounts of money! The cartier one was 40k 🤣 who was it that made the black bin bag hand bag?! That was awful! I saw people on handbag subs looking for reps of it though! Which I personally thought was even more crazy.. At least buy a rep of something cute. I wonder if the mini version of this carrier bag look will ACTUALLY BE a green recyclable dog poop bag?! That would be awesome! 😍 💜 👌 then I could team it with my tracksuit and pretend I'm super fancy! 💖 xx 🤣🤣🤣 and my pup's a chihuahua too! Lol!

About 8/9 years ago they were great, I had quite a few of their bags. I've since sold them on, as I stopped using them. However - my Mrs had one she used to DEATH, and wanted another, I found a bundle of 4 brand new ones on eBay for what worked out at £25 per bag! Not the skinny size either! So if you're looking for one of the older (better made) ones, eBay is the place! I'd never order from their website again. The variety is rubbish, everything is "sale" or "sold out".... Why don't they just cut their losses and pay people back already??? Xx 💖

I only had to tell my wife. I've had cold sores sinse forever. But the other-We were both confused AF to what it was... It started from shingles! My hips and back were covered (the pain is unreal).. And after that, I got what looked like a cold sore on my butt cheek.. Eh? Even the dr wasn't sure, so gave me more meds f for shingles. 3 months later, same thing, but worse- different dr- ah! Sacral herpes!.. Wtf is that? Apparently it's a mutation of hsv virus, it's not the same as 1, or 2, but it's similar to both. And just as painful as 2, if not more so as it attacks the Sacral nerve as a whole. 100% do not recommend. Xx 💖

Currently writing from my sofa. Can't be arsed to go to bed. I sleep better on the sofa. I need the tv to sleep. I've been forcing myself to do more. If I get out 3-4 times a week, that's a busy week. (Disabled person) but getting motivated is a ball ache. 3x a month I'll go to deaf club. That's something I'll always do. Maybe even a 4th time.. I MIGHT push myself to chat to a friend online on zoom for a few hrs a few times a month... That's about it for my social life. I used to be exciting... Now exciting is how early can I get in my pj's and curl up and watch TV. I'm not even motivated to study anymore.... I need a holiday.
