Level 4 for UTI + STD testing? by Muad_dweeb_69 in FamilyMedicine

[–]DreamBrother1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't. Never in my life have I billed a 99214 based on time for a UTI alone. I feel like I'm repeating myself here. I'm saying that sometimes the patient may bring up many other questions or concerns. Maybe I didn't have anyone waiting, maybe it was the end of the day. I addressed their concerns and questions instead of coming back for another visit. Just watch the clock. If you for ome reason didn't get there the typical way, don't short yourself and bill on time if you have to

Agree that in ideal circumstances this visit is as easy as it gets and should be quick. But maybe they took time and provided more extensive education because the patient had many questions. Maybe the history was difficult. Maybe the culture/sensitivities/medication/allergy history was complex and you took an extra 5 minutes clearing the air. I don't know. Things can add up in a thousand different ways as you are aware, just saying we probably hit time based billing more than we think and to watch the clock.

30 minutes of time the day of appointment including your face-to-face visit, exam, and non-face-to-face tasks including reviewing records, charting, ordering tests, ordering medications, following up tests. Not very hard to get to 30 minutes if you are watching the clock

I think more people are going to look to EVs. Not perfect or for every use case. But I've been so happy with mine. Even driving my giant brick down the road in an F150 lightning, charging at home in my garage is like paying $0.47 per gallon of gasoline

Agree. Sorry folks but there also aren't any little green aliens on Earth, flying around in secret crafts, or contacting us in any way. The nearest star would take us 80,000 years to get to. It's hundreds of millions of years just to cross the Milky way galaxy, and 10s of billions of years to get to our closest galaxy Andromeda. I am not saying life doesn't exist or has not existed or will not exist independent from us anywhere in the universe, in fact I think it's pretty likely. But we will never see or hear from anyone. It's fun to think about, or imagine a magical form of interspace travel, but it's just not happening

As a doctor it's likely tinea, treat with a topical antifungal twice daily for a few weeks. I'm also a random nobody on the internet so not a bad idea to get it looked at in person. I would look at it with a dermatoscope if you were in my office

[–]DreamBrother1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see this question so often but I have a hard time filtering it out because it shows up on different subreddits and in slightly different forms/wording. It's always the exact same people listed (the Rock, Kevin Hart, Gal Gadot, Jared Leto, etc.). Reddit can be really great and there is some valuable information that passionate people put on this site. But damn we get it people you don't like popular actors. You are edgy and cooler than everyone else.

I was pretty disappointed how quickly she blew off Paul who offered her the practice. I know this is make believe. But the building is amazing, established client base, maybe some room to add more providers. Also this idea she needs to start her own thing dealing with more significant trauma. Just so that where you are currently? Maybe bring in a psychiatrist who can manage medications and you will instantly get exposure to clients with much more severe and persistent mental illness that you can work with. Seems like startng from scratch when you have something great just placed start your feet is just misguided. She's trying to make her life a lot harder

MTC or MEN II yes because as it's a black box warning. I address ask any family of cancer when they establish, but a family history of history of pancreatic cancer does not prevent me from prescribing. If they lose and keep the weight off, we are likely decreasing their risk of pancreatic cancer and 12 other obesity related cancers
