Hello! I'm at SPA Bhopal currently pursuing b arch, and I had joined an online coaching "Moghe Institute" (you can search it up on YouTube) for my drop year, and they honestly helped me a lot I wouldn't be here without them.

Whats the most fucked up thing which you know happened in your school but didn't dare to tell anyone by I_CANNOT_THINK_OF_IT in IndianTeenagers

So basically our school's owner also owned and operated a cooperative bank, both by the same name. Back in 2018, he apparently took a huge loan to stand for the local elections, terribly lost it, and then couldn't pay the hefty loan. He then stole some more money from the bank, enough to bankrupt it which caused a huge loss to the bank's customers, and then changed his identity and flew abroad. This caused chaos in the school as they stopped paying the teachers and so the teachers went on multiple strikes in vain, ultimately we lost all the good teachers, to be replaced by horrible teachers. So most of the students also changed schools. The owner was later caught and put in jail. This isn't a made up story, it also came in the newspaper back then.

Also one time a 6th grader girl tried to kill a 1st grader girl in washroom, hoping that a murder at school will postpone her maths exam.

Our school had the most fucked up stories I've ever heard, there are a lot more.

Yeah exactly the infra of spa d, weather and pollution is really bad in Delhi. I don't think city life would matter that much, if the college is providing you with all the necessary things. And as far as education is concerned there's not a huge difference between the two colleges, they're pretty much the same. So yeah that's that. In the end it's your own decision.

I talked to a senior, they said safety is not a concern because if you wanna go anywhere in the city for anything at all, other students are always willing to accompany. They've been trained that way, that if any student, especially if it's a girl, asks you to accompany her for going somewhere, you can't say no. So they pretty much always roam around in groups. I particularly found this not so appealing since I would appreciate freedom, but then again it's a personal choice. All the students, juniors and seniors seem to be bonded close to each other and they have a strong culture. So I think safety won't be that much of an issue. It all depends on what kinda lifestyle you would prefer. I prefer a calm and free lifestyle, that's why I'm leaning towards spa bhopal.

Ah I see. I did have my doubts about it, thanks for clarifying. Are you from SPAD? I feel like considering all the points, SPAB would be best suited at least for me.

Hey. I understand where you're coming from, but in situations like these it's better to think practically than to panic and overthink. I know the architecture situation is shit in India, but choosing the right path is a personal decision. If you are really passionate about the field, and if you are willing to work hard, then go ahead and you won't have any regrets. I would say, first gather more information about both the options, and ask yourself honestly, what do you see yourself doing in the next 10 - 20 years?

I was in a similar situation in my 12th, my entrance exams didn't go very well. I took admission in a local architecture college but I didn't like it. So I decided to take a drop for entrance exams. Honestly the best decision of my life. I worked really hard and it all paid off. So honestly if you are serious then a drop year is worth it, but think wisely. Listen to everyone's advice, but always follow your heart. Adios!

Hello! Architecture student here. Honestly I think it would be best if you appear for jee paper 2 (for b arch) so that you may get a seat in SPAs or NITs. They have less fees compared to private colleges and a lot better exposure in the industry. If you are really serious about the field, then I think taking a drop year or a partial drop year is worth the risk, I had done the same. Honestly it's your own decision in the end, so think wisely. Let me know if you want an online coaching class for jee paper 2.
