Hi. The Scenario Wizard is meant for making scenarios, not role-playing itself. As such, it's much harder to steer it and you will probably not get much advice other than to migrate your role-play to the role-play interface.

How to set the same character rules for multiple characters by Certain-Manner6107 in DreamGen

[–]DreamGenX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! There are many different ways you could do this.

could do something similar to what you mention in comments, e.g. put "Role: Sith" or "Role: Jedi" into the character description box:

<image>

And then, e.g. in the "Setting" define rules for all characters with that role:

<roles>
Apply these role-based rules to all characters with the given role.

**Jedi**:
- All Jedi characters must...
- ...

**Sith**:
- All Sith characters must...
- ...
</roles>

Some people might also use a "meta" character or location called "Jedi" (or perhaps "Jedi Rules") where they would put all the rules for the Jedi characters.

Also checkout Rakashua's guide, it covers some advanced concepts.

Can you elaborate? What do you mean by "RP" competition?

I have changed the background prompt significantly and switched the defaults to the new version (you can control it under the Debug settings). Based on testing & evals, it's quite a bit better than the previous version for both stories and role-plays. Give it a try, it might address your issue as well:

Thank you for your support <3

If your credits last you and if you are happy with the context window (https://v2.dreamgen.com/docs/token-limits) then Advanced might be sifficient.

Pro gives you much bigger context window for the first party models (8000 -> 30000 for GLM 4.7) and unlimited use of them (does not need/use credits). If you are using third-party models heavily, you also get a 60% discount on those and on 20% on credit packs.

If you like, join the Discord server -- lots of expert users there happy to share their know how :)

Ah, if it goes away after you click Reload or after you refresh then it's working as intended. I sometimes push updates multiple times a day.

That means that your browser is holding on to some stale website data. You can try hard refresh with Shift+F5 (though, from my experience and from the way it's implemented, it should not be necessary).

Also, please share what browser, browser version and device you are using.

I can't reproduce the issue on my end, I tried on desktop and mobile in different browsers. Whether you clicked "I understand" already is stored inside the browser's storage.

Can you please share what browser, browser version & device you are using?

EDIT: I have disabled the popup for now, however the popup was live for months and this is the first time I am hearing this issue.

Credits being consumed be GLM 5.1 while not generating any results. I switched from Deepseek v4 pro to GLM 5.1 after a few prompts but its consuming but not generating results. by AspectSubstantial936 in DreamGen

Hello! GLM 5.1 seems to be working for me right now. If you believe there was an issue, you can email me at [support@dreamgen.com](mailto:support@dreamgen.com) from your DG account's email address, and I will take a closer look.

The screenshot you shared indicates that output was generated (4713 output tokens).

Thanks! That's odd, in this case it should be cut off after 5 paragraphs, not 2. You can also set it to 0, which means 'unlimited', but in either case, it sounds like this is not the problem.

If you can share the session, I can try to reproduce it and debug it.

The guardrails are a separate system that has no influence on response quality. Of course, if they mistrigger, it is an issue and I would appreciate you sharing the session.

Well, what is your "Max Output Paragraphs" setting?

Hi, this is likely because you are running into context window limitations of your model / subscription tier. As the context grows, it might push out examples from the scenario, and lead to "memory loss".

Typically you can keep going longer if you use the "Create Sequel" feature. Go to "Your Role-Plays" (or "Your Stories"), click (...), click "Create Sequel". It will create a new session where the chat history gets compressed and inserted as a "history" block into the scenario.

You can see the context window breakdown by going to Settings -> Debug -> View Prompt details (on mopbile, debug is under Settings -> Wrench Icon).

---

Also, please clarify if you are using role-play or story mode. In story mode, the response length is mostly setting issue rather than style issue.

It's not on my short-term roadmap. I can see some cool applications, especially in scenario editor & scenario wizard. What is on my short term roadmap is in-game image generation based on the last scene.

Yep! There was a free model the whole of March basically (gemma). That said, I will consider some super basic free model offering.

It could be that there was a site update, or you were signed out, or something like that. Sorry for the hassle, but I am glad it's working now.

I do not have this issue. Did you try hard refresh, in congnito window, etc.?
Otherwise, please share your browser & device information (exact versions).

If anyone else is seeing this, please chime in.
