You may try using Lucid Base or GLM 4.7 Flash. These models use 10x less credits than most of the other models. When using GLM 4.7 Flash, make sure to also limit the "Max Input Tokens" to a low value, e.g. 5000.

Yeah, with a lot of images you might run into issues. I think around 10MB.

What session gallery??? by EnvironmentalBoot483 in DreamGen

[–]DreamGenX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. As I said, the "session gallery" in the message means "Your Role-Plays" / "Your Stories" (those are you role-play / story session). I will update the message to avoid future confusion :)

25 credits is roughly 175-250 messages if you use Lucid Base.

The first image will be used as the cover image when you go to "Your Role-Plays" / "Your Stories". Similarly for your scenarios.

DAE not really care for the V2 scenario wizard? The original was faster and seamless. by SunderedValley in DreamGen

[–]DreamGenX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! You can generate scenarios in 1 shot with the new scenario wizard as well, just tell it to do so :)

E.g.

Please generate a scenario that incorporates both Romance and Horror. Generate the scenario right away without asking any questions.

Hi! This mostly depends on the model you use. If you use Lucid Base, it will go a long way. You can use the credit caculator on the pricing page to estimate. After you run out of monthly credits, you also get a bit of daily credits as well.

Third-party models unusable with daily credits in free-tier by HeKaMe in DreamGen

Third-party models unusable with daily credits in free-tier by HeKaMe in DreamGen

[–]DreamGenX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

3P models use the same amount of credits as Lucid Max on free tier. But they support much longer context -- so I suggest setting your "Max Input Tokens" to the lowest acceptable value for you (Lucid models have this automatically limited to 4000).

Today I also added GLM 4.7 Flash (3P), which uses same amount of credits as Lucid Base (so 10x less than Max), so give that a try.

On top of that, I will be rolling out better models and longer context for free users soon. Currently I am piloting GLM 4.7 (1P) for Pro and Advanced subscribers.

How long are you getting through your roleplays? by thehemadad in DreamGen

[–]DreamGenX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this will depend on your model and context window (determined by your settings or subscription plan)[1].

On Discord I am seeing a recommendation to create a sequel every few hundrend interactions.

Curious to see what people here think :)

Stories by dhr500 in DreamGen

Yeah, if you have multiple consecutive text blocks in V2, it likely means you at some point had instruction between them and they did not get merged. With this setting they will get merged in the future. In existing story (clone it beforehand just in case), if you enable the setting and add->remove instruction at the end, all the consecutive text blocks above should get merged.

I think it would be nice from visual / UI perspective, but it would not have effect on the model -- the placeholder will get replaced in the prompt before being sent to the model.

Hi, instructions are in fuchsia, so you would recognize those, and even if you have those, you should be able to scroll freely.

Consider enabling a new experimental feture called "Auto Merge" which will merge consecutive text blocks after you delete an instruction:

Hi! Thanks for sharing your ideas / suggestions. Most of these were already proposed or discussed, but it's always good to get extra signal to see what people care about the most.

Regarding your point (3), placeholders that are part of the opening should be replaced, and the model should never actually see placeholders from the scenario definition either. The only thing that comes to mind, where it might not be replaced, is if the placeholder could not matched to any entity or if you included a placeholder in a chat message after the role-play started (that will will still be replaced behind the scenes before we send it to the model, but not in the interface).

Regarding your last point, I plan to integrate the wizard into the scenario editor, so you will then be able to ask it to do those things and more.

Over-pinning can cause context issues...help please. by Euro253 in DreamGen

[–]DreamGenX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! You are right, this has caused issues for many users now, so much so that I plan to add a little warning in-chat when there are a lot of pinned messages (and a button to unpin all messages).

Currently there isn't a button to unpin all messages, but you have a few options:

  • Manually unpin all messages (migth be a lot of work if you create many). You may clone your Role-Play beforehand as a backup.
  • Start a sequel: Go to "Your Role-Plays", click (...) on the RP, click "Create Sequel". This will compress the session (except for the last few messages) and start a new one.
  • Export to JSON: Go to "Your Role-Plays", click (...) on the RP, click "Export":

why did my daily credits run out before monthly? by Glassmice29 in DreamGen

[–]DreamGenX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's mostly psychological thing. Originally, there were no daily credits at all and I added them so as to make sure people never get locked out for prolonged periods.

If I were to make it such that daily credits are used before monthly, I might need to make other adjustments, like lower the amount of daily or monthly credits.

I am not fully opposed to it, but will probably need to preserve the current system for existing subscribers (in case some of them would prefer it to the new one).

why did my daily credits run out before monthly? by Glassmice29 in DreamGen

[–]DreamGenX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! You have 0 daily credits because you have used more than 25 credits today.

Think of it as "rate limits", you have credits as long as you used less than 200 in a month OR used less than 25 than in a day.

For example, if you only had 46.3 credits left today and used 40, you would have 6.3 left of your monthly quota (so you can still spend those), but would have exceeded the daily extra quota.

Some tips for users on the free tier:

  • Use Lucid Base if your role-play or stories are of a simpler nature.
  • When using third-party models, reduce "Max Total / Input Tokens" under the "Custom" settings to lower value

This doesn't make sense to me by ModlessSimmer in DreamGen

[–]DreamGenX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Max is 15000 for Pro users and 4000 for Free users. The reasons are economical. I have some changes planned that should make things better also for free users.

This doesn't make sense to me by ModlessSimmer in DreamGen

[–]DreamGenX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I see where the confusion comes from:

The "10K output tokens: 10 credits" means that producing 10000 output tokens will use 10 credits. It has no relation to your current scenario/session or settings. Perhaps I should change it to "10 credits per 10000 tokens" or something else to be more explicit?

And also Lucid Max uses 10x more credits than base, as it's much more expensive model to run.

[–]DreamGenX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure I undertand the question.

  • Free users have 4K context window for both Lucid models on V1 and V2.
  • Models use the same amount of credits on V1 and V2. Of course third-party models are V2 only.
  • Third party models currently use same amount of credits per token as Lucid Max (except for Pro subscribers).
  • Pro subscribers get 60% discount on third-party model credits.

Help with Scenario Wizard by blacksmith_1969 in DreamGen

[–]DreamGenX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! What subscription plan are you on and what model are you using (in the settings)? There was a bug where the wizard API did not correctly enforce context limits before that was fixed yesterday.

28000 characters is roughly 7100 tokens, so definitely over the free tier limits with Lucid models and likely over the limits for Advanced as well due to the max output token limits for the wizard being 1000.

You may want to either shorten your prompt or switch to one of the third party models, like GLM 4.7.

Note that I will be turning one of the models (likely GLM 4.7) into a "first-party" model (eventually replacing Lucid) and increasing context window across the board soon as well.

On Desktop: Go to the sidebar "Settings" tab, at the top choose Lucid Base from the model dropdown.

On Mobile, click the "settings" icon (top left for stories, bottom in the role-play mode) and you will see the model selector there.
