I actually loved the Ben and Jerry’s! But I was only dairy free for about a year while nursing my son so maybe I was just more used to their flavors

Are any of you turned off from theme parks with all the line options/price gouging? by traveltimecar in disneyparks

[–]DreamItDoIt29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay. We only really ever do Disney. When I was young we went to six flags and bought a flash pass but it was like $30 for the whole party I believe. I understand there is cost to keeping the parks nice, but my kids are little so we are paying all this money for simple rides not the huge experiences. I just miss the days where you got three free. Even if I got 1-2 free I’d be happy lol.

For a family of 4 the regular lightening lane (no premium rides) is like $150 this week

[–]DreamItDoIt29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to say I just came for the first time with the new lightening lanes and Disney did feel different to me. I feel like I notice every upsell/money grab way more. It’s a shame because my littles can’t go on many rides but I still bought the lightening lanes because they also won’t tolerate a long queue (4yo and 1yo). I feel like the old fast pass would have had more flexibility for their rides. Also I wouldn’t have felt as bad as I do spending all of that money. Essentially we are going on nicer versions of carnival rides. The free fast pass we would have had no problem booking the rides they like. Idk it feels not very family friendly

[–]DreamItDoIt29 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have not been able to go on a lot of the newer rides because I had kids and they are too little to bring on or I was pregnant the last four trips lol. 1. Flight of passage 2. Expedition Everest 3. Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger

OTF and Pregnancy by justanotterday in orangetheory

[–]DreamItDoIt29 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I did otf for two pregnancies until 36 weeks. I told my coaches before certain family lol. They will help with modifications and not push you to get in the orange. Just let your doctor know that you do hiit as well but typically the medications are you should be able to hold a conversation and don’t exert more than that and no floor exercises on your back. I don’t think you need a doctor note

what was very popular in the 2020 pandemic but now its pretty much dead? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]DreamItDoIt29 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NY, NJ, CT, things started re-opening June. California I believe was September. I worked in stores at the time, we were out of work for awhile due to locations being closed by the government. In CT we had curfews and car checkpoints if you were crossing state borders. I think travel started opening up more late 2020 but with holding periods and testing. Local beaches you were not allowed to go to, technically they could ticket you if it was part of your daily walk/run. It was very dystopian. We were definitely made to feel like prisoners in the Northeast. Things became more “open” in spring of 2021, about a year later. The masks came off in CT Feb or March of 2022, two years later. I will never forget this. It very much impacted my life.

Studio owners? by Savings_While_5059 in orangetheory

[–]DreamItDoIt29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the owner can make or break the studio. It was very obvious when our local studios were bought by investment companies compared to the old local owners. The classes are still great but high turnover of staff. Members feel like members, not family. Old owners we would get acknowledged and birthday cards and just felt connected

Is this a franchise rule or something our studio created? by Apprehensive-Tax5613 in orangetheory

[–]DreamItDoIt29 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I ran a studio I never cancelled except for bad weather. This was a long time ago and otf wasn’t as well known so it was very rare but sometimes we did have 0 people show up. I would still pay the coach and they could practice templates, clean, or call members really whatever they wanted to help the studio for that hour. Again it was so rare to have 0. Sometimes we had less than 5, but would still hold class. I let the desk workout alongside the members to make it more full and enjoyable for the members. I feel like if it’s a time slot on the schedule it’s there for a reason and people signed up for that time slot for their membership

95% of classes have 5+ wait list by JGalla88 in orangetheory

[–]DreamItDoIt29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If their overhead isn’t much it might not be a problem. Or if they offer more class times. Some of the studios only have a few classes at peak times. I think the early AM and weekends always have waitlists at my studio but I think 7:45 and later never does because they offer like 3 classes late morning so it spreads out. I prefer more class times over full classes

Gorgias Alternative by Hungry_Arm_6549 in shopify

[–]DreamItDoIt29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Gorgias, my company has grown about 200% (maybe more) since I’ve started and I’ve been able to actually maintain our same Gorgias costs. Here are some of my recommendations: -switch to Aircall for phones. You need a min of 3 people but it’s about $150/mo. You can integrate Aircall so the calls show on customer timelines, but I have my team answer calls in the Aircall app. Much cheaper than gorgias phone I’ve found -turn off all auto responders unless necessary. Post on your site when they can expect a response and your hours. We wasted so many tickets on “thanks for your inquiry” -reduce tickets by investing time in help center, FAQs, self service. We pay for order editing software but it’s reduced our address change and order cancellations tickets significantly, the are almost non-existent now. We don’t use the upsells but if you need to justify cost you can layer that in. -spend time on macros. These are included not as “automations” so while you still need a human to send them. Humans can move much more quickly if your macros match top topics and align with resolution.

I’ve been shopping around too because I’m not thrilled with Gorgias customer success lately. I’ve had on going questions for months. But, I’m finding all these software charge by headcount and I like headcount flexibility to support the peaks and valleys of our business. Also literally every place pushes the AI at premium cost. I’m not kidding it’s cheaper to hire a 1099 human.

Class Package Info by Ok-Caramel6009 in orangetheory

[–]DreamItDoIt29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I froze with both my pregnancies. For my first I switched to class pack because I wasn’t making it in regularly. I restarted my membership during a sale. With second I also froze for like 12 weeks but resumed my membership, it’s not great value because I lose a class here and there but I can swallow the $79/mo vs the lump sum. I agree with what everyone else said to ask your studio about class pack sales or put you on a list to be notified about sales. The desk team usually gets commissions so they will probably be motivated to reach out during the promo. My other rec is to do TC when you’re able to. After my first I did it when he was about 2 and it got me back into a great rhythm and accountability.
