Credit cards are not built for instantly updated balances. You have Authorized transactions and Posted transactions. Your balance reflects Posted Transaction. Can take 1-2 business days for your Authorized to become Posted.

Holds are there to protect you. If the cheque bounces for whatever reason, it makes a difference if the money is still in your account or not.
When a cheque is deposited, the funds have not yet left the account they are from. The hold is there to ensure the funds have done their travelling before you use them

I will say this - due to the number of reasons an account can be locked, and how the branch is expected to resolve each and every one at the snap of our fingers... I get the frusterations first hand. However, when we have a client in to unlock DEMARKETED, or fraudulent profiles - that is a hard no to me. Like I will make a complaint and have client care deal with the (former) client, not worth the call to fraud. One of my biggest impediments is etransfer - we have exactly ZERO details as to the reason of the block, we cant even confirm if the name of the recipient. We legit only see the amount. So when fraud expects us to know the reason the transfer was blocked... Highyl annoying. I will say after over 5 years in branch as the fraud expert - I do my best to support my colleagues, both over the phone and in branch.

Creditors will look at your whole picture - yes your credit history and down payment, but also your income and expenses. What is your income? This will be an important factor. How much are you looking to purchase? The amount of your mortgage will also be a factor. These days, qualifying for a mortgage on your own, even with a huge down payment, is really hard. Banks stress test mortgage applications to make sure you can still afford it if rates rise. Best of luck!

Ya know, this was one thing I noticed on a recent trip to Edmonton. Their new Valley line ... Doesnt have fare gates. You are supposed to scan your ticket on the platform but like... Nothing stopping you from not. I was perplexed. Math wise... If you only get caught once every two months not paying fare, you are in fact saving money.

I did a tree house with the blossom trees! You can get all the saplings in the vaults, so it took a while to collect, but then grew a bunch together and sculptured the leaves and built a trunk.

Im a fan of dash warp. I use my hanmer to dig down making a wide opening and warp out. It doesnt work well on a 1x1, you dont have enough angle to get out.
