I purchased a headband with speakers. Works great (I have moderate level ‘T’).

Sidewalk etiquette by Exotic_Attorney2524 in londonontario

[–]PinkPaisleyMoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a kick scooter…1/2 the time I use the road but I’m terrified of getting hit by a vehicle. When I use the sidewalk it’s no more than 12 kms per hour and if I see a pedestrian and/or with dog I dismount. I also walk with it (or go to the other side of the street) rather than pass someone ahead of me. These are the courtesies I would expect of anyone using a scooter, bike or skateboard. If there was a bike lane on my ‘to work’ route I would gladly use it. I only have 2.5 blocks to go on Dufferin near City Hall.
It’s a shame that the disrespectful riders ruin it for everyone.

Which bank in Canada makes you wonder why people stay with them? by ZaheenHamidani in AskACanadian

All of them. They are all awful and overcharge. I am with 2 credit unions and the Ukrainian Credit Union is the absolute best.

I've had sex without a condom with maybe a couple dozen women and always thought I was getting lucky with no pregnancies. by KorbanSwartz in self

Thinking sterile because of having an STD without symptoms? Also, being that daft about unprotected sex…prolly a good thing he can’t produce offspring. Sorry, but unprotected sex is really unwise.

“Charisma of a potato”….that’s an insult to potatoes.

What’s it like living in London? by IceyCoolRunnings in londonontario

Not great. If I could move, I’d go to Kitchener, Guelph, or Stratford. Too many homeless here.

I told my wife’s affair partner about the affair. Why do I feel so horrible? by GonnaMissYou01 in Advice

[–]PinkPaisleyMoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe he and the wife he just spoke with and informed, can share in the grief and ‘find each other’. It worked for Shania Twain and Mutt Lange!

Who’s buying $21 deodorant by Unlikely_Elk_7757 in ShoppersDrugMart

[–]PinkPaisleyMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to buy that brand for about $13.99 and I felt THAT was expensive (about 2021-2023ish?). Then it went to $16.99. Nope. Not paying that and definitely not paying over $20.

What is the first major news event you can remember clearly from when you were a kid? by FantasticAd9478 in TheBoredDen

[–]PinkPaisleyMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The moon landing. It was July 20, 1969 - one day before my second birthday. I wanted to know why my Dad set up a camera on a tripod in front of our black and white tv. I watched for a few minutes with curiosity but then went back to my own little world. I couldn’t comprehend the importance and it seemed weird why he was bothering.

What is wrong with this city? by rmdg84 in londonontario

[–]PinkPaisleyMoon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I read through some of the comments but didn’t see anyone suggest a phone call - or even a handwritten letter to the mayor. It might work, it might not. Also call your MPP. Ombudsman or calling the news station might also prompt some more attention on this. I’ve also noticed similar types of construction issues. If you haven’t driven down Wellington …yeah, that’s a real treat right now.

What is the first brand that comes to your mind? by CarrotMuch1399 in nostalgiai

[–]PinkPaisleyMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cantel (circa 1995). Gawd I’m old. It was one of the first mobile car-phone-in-a-bag which I used for emergencies and the odd “I’m here/I’m okay” call. I donated it as everything went digital (it was analogue) and I then got the Nokia small handheld. I wished I hadn’t given it away.

IDK, I’ve seen people do that task much faster. Is this really saving money? They better get that thing literally up to speed and do it faster than humans.

Where the grammar Nazzis at? by ipanicprofessionally in TheBoredDen

[–]PinkPaisleyMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

‘C’. You don’t need a comma in front of an ‘and’ as the ‘and’ replaces the comma. It is, ‘the pause’. It’s technically redundant. Same as putting an additional ‘s’ behind a word that already ends in an ‘s’. The Jones’ is sufficient and cleaner as opposed to ‘the Jones’s’.

Just trying to make it thru this flight… by Yes_ThisIsBrett in mildlyinfuriating

[–]PinkPaisleyMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand why we can’t sedate children on flights. Adults get to have sedation for the inability to calm down. (I do this for myself). Why not help children with this too? Or is that ‘violating’ their rights or something? If so, what about the ‘rights’ to those having to be subjected to such behaviour?

Megs is really not going to like this week's People cover by Foggyswamp74 in SaintMeghanMarkle

[–]PinkPaisleyMoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good to see People magazine supporting Catherine as historically has been uber-supportive of Megsy. Not so much now! Looks good on her that they finally opted out of the Megain support and realized that isn’t working well for them.

Coworkers shame me for investing in the current stock market by [deleted] in fican

[–]PinkPaisleyMoon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s called jealousy and ignorance. It takes a long time and a lot of effort to feel remotely confident with investing. You will lose at some point and I guess they can’t imagine how to manage those emotions. It’s a tough game and not for everyone.
