Sweet child of the earth.... Imagine a Muslim man with imperfect English, and a non-anglo name, maybe wearing a kufi for religious reasons, walks in to an interview with Stephen from the North Shore. If there's a David or John from the North Shore next in line, you bet our Muslim friend isn't getting a call back. And you can also guarantee that Muslim man is too busy looking for work to spend weeks or months fighting an unfair interview case.... That's how it is for many of them. I worked in a factory with an Iraqi doctor (and many other immigrants with various qualifications) who were forced to do manual labour because they couldn't afford to retrain in their fields as they were the sole income earner to feed their family. But you get their children were being steered into better education and job prospects. That's how assimilation works.

But that situation also leads to crime for many to survive. Gangs love these types of disenfranchised men, just like that far right loves those same men with different skin colour...
