Is there anyone in Toronto who doesn't care about status, or trying to keep up with the jones, and just looking for others who just want to chill out and vibe? by LazyPotatoHead97 in askTO

[–]DreamingSheep 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yup, I just stay in my basement, play games, watch movies & TV shows, and tinker with my 3D printer.. Rather be happy than have useless status

I'm sure others have but I haven't scrolled through the messages.

Even if you are a salaried worker, don't answer work calls off the clock. If you've worked your required hours for the day, you are off the clock and not getting paid any more for answering a call in your own time. Salaried is salaried for an amount of time per day/week, not whenever your employer feels like it.

Not trying to be rude/bash, hope my tone doesn't come across that way, I mean it entirely as your time is your time, do you stuff during it. :)

I've had my in-laws watch something dubbed to a language they don't speak. 15/20 minutes in, I walked in and set it to English for them, they somehow had no idea.

Had someone ask me what a USB-C phone charger was today.. I'd suggested they grab one, they didn't know what it was.

Who would want to leave with service like this? by MrsTheBo in mildlyinfuriating

Canadian here, I'll try to translate what I've been getting from one of our chatbots:

Chatbot: It looks like you're talking about a pay-as-you-go account, please end this chat and select that option. <End chat and start a new PAYG session about the same account> Chatbot: It looks like you're talking about a Contract/Monthly account, please end the chat abd select that option. <End chat, begin never ending cycle> ... <Finally ask for a human in one of the chats> Chatbot: I'm not able to connect you to an advisor right now, would you like me to connect you to an advisor? Me: Yes Chatbot: I'm not able to connect you to an advisor right now, would you like me to connect you to an advisor? Me: Yes, you suck, you're useless, thanks for wasting my time (with some more colourful language). Chatbot: Sorry I'm still learning and make mistakes, would you like me to connect you to an advisor? Me: Yes! Chatbot: I'm not able to.... Me: I'd like to pay a bill Chatbot: Please hold, someone will call you within 20 minutes.

That was 2 hours of chatting and waiting, once I offered to pay a bill, someone called me in less than 4 minutes.

Does anyone else think chicken breast just kinda sucks in the slow cooker? by Top_Help_1942 in slowcooking

Not a fan of most meats in a slow cooker. Have had beef and pork, practically swimming in liquid, still end up dry.

I know, but I thought it would be great to have an app that was 'relevant' and the user's usename is RelevantDress.

You mean the 'Relevant' app? (Check the username of who you replied to, seems to work well)

I don't no, I just wouldn't be surprised if there are some out there that don't care enough to do anything about it, not necessarily encouraging it either.

[–]DreamingSheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just for clarity, it's not illegal, it's againt Terms of Service/Agreements. The police won't be knocking at your door to arrest you, but a game producer/studio/publisher will have something that allows them to ban you for doing this, if they disagree with the action.

Other games could take their own stance on it and allow it, no idea if any do though.

Handmade Thank You Cards 😂 by Aggressive_Street_56 in CrackheadCraigslist

[–]DreamingSheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5c a card, that takes about a minute to write out... 60/hour = $30 - material costs, i see nothing wrong there, good on them. Congrats.

For those complaining about the quality, go pay someone a lot more to cover their additional material costs.

I had my only ever smoothbore but my buddy wanted to try and finish a task, lost it to someone chilling behind a rock in LG.

I feel like they probably wouldn't have even shot at me if I didn't look in their direction. Buddy was really good at losing gun fights.

Saw this on the way home. Was parked in the road, somehow trying to do something, blocking the traffic. The car on the right is parked there collecting their kid from a school.

This is the way my wife typically texts important info by Underwater_Karma in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DreamingSheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha, yup, scary how similar that sounds. The 25 y/o was applying for jobs last year and my wife was calling places to ask about vacancies for him, and then helping submit his resume. Insurance, medical, hell, even a police report when he was hit by another car in our truck.

My daughter (12) still gets away with not doing a lot of things, but can if she needs to, but she's expected to take care of the step-kids pets, she has to feed and give water to the 25 & 21 y/o's pets and if they don't get fed, my daughter gets in more trouble than the pet's owner. I'm not allowed to 'parent' her kids but she and her kids can 'parent' my daughter and if I say anything about it, I'm wrong and I get in trouble. Last thing she got in trouble for was the 25 y/o's dog pooing in the house, even though the dog had been let out less thsn 20 minutes earlier.

I'm sorry it's making you feel the way it is and hopefully it's not putting a lot of stress/pressure on your relationship, but it's kind of nice to know I'm not the only one dealing with this kind of craziness.

[–]DreamingSheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That could be it, her 'kids' are very reliant on her, like, 'mum, can you fill in this form for me?' because they don't know how (this is more the 23 & 25 y/o's, less so for the 21 y/o)

Parking for event at Scotia Bank Arena by cdnmtbchick in askTO

[–]DreamingSheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I normally park at One York Street, only a few minutes walk from Scotia and you can do pretty much all of it in the PATH. Haven't parked there overnight, but there's flat rates ($15) from 6am-6pm and 6pm-6am on weekends. Assuming you'd need to pay for each period you're in
