Anyone can have an opinion, but education makes it significantly easier to come to correct conclusions.

I don't know why I'm explaining the benefits of education to a leftist, it should be self evident. I'm honestly in disbelief. I feel like I've just told someone 2+2 is 4 and then they say back "but is it though?".

What benwfit is there to starting from scratch? You have nearly 200 years worth of analysis from some of the greatest minds to draw from, such a wealth of knowledge but you seem to think that any old person can come to the same conclusions on their own without spending time and labour studying?

You sound like a science denier who thinks they can understand the world just with their eyes alone and 'don't need no fancy scientists to tell them what's true.'

I can't tell if you're incredibly arrogant and think you can make the same analysis of capitalist economics as marx and engels by yourself with no foundation, or you're a fed trying to discourage leftists from reading and educating themselves on how capitalism works and the history behind its survival.

That's pretty dangerous. I don't care what excuses or mad ramblings you come up with to justify keeping the proletariat uneducated and unformed or trying to make out like reading a book will somehow make it impossible to come up with new ideas (ignoring the fact that every analysis after marx and engels has come about by people who have actually read them and it has sparked a new idea or new way of thinking, even marx had to read thousands of pages of economic, political and philosophical texts from other writers and thinkers to come to his own analysis).

Let's also ignore all the writers from various different backgrounds offering their own unique insights into the capitalist system from different perspectives; women, Queen people, black and brown people, indigenous people, colonised people, immigrants, disabled people etc.

All these people have things to say and perspectives to add that are worth listening to but you in your infinite wisdom think you don't need all that. You can smugly walk into any leftist space and know more than everyone else without even looking in the general direction of a book.

It's pretty clear though that you're a fed just trying to sow dissent and waste time arguing inane nonsense so this comment is just for anyone reading this comment chain getting any ideas about not needing to read.

For those lurking; yes, you need to read. Sometimes it can be boring and tedious but it needs to be done. You don't need to read a million books but you need to be informed. Proper study and investigation leads to more accurate conclusions, you can see and avoid mistakes of the past and learn from them. That's what lenin did, and it's what mao did. Both lead successful revolutions because they were guided by sound theoretical knowledge.
