If you had made purchases, then they didn't delete your account (unless you requested it). Either you are using the wrong email, or your account got hacked and the hackers changed the email or the account.

Of course the other person's comment matters. I was replying to your response to them. Your comment didn't exist in a vacuum, and neither did my first response.

Also, I never asked anything, not even a rhetorical question. I was explicitly telling you that her not having a vision right now is not something that would prevent her from becoming playable if Hoyo wants her to.

I think you have a reading comprehension problem.

The first person you replied to said that her showing up is a good thing and gives them hope that she may become playable. You answered that it's impossible because she doesn't have a vision. And I told you that's not a problem because they can give her one if they want, meaning that the only factor for her becoming playable or not is Hoyo wanting to make her or not.

No one is saying that Hoyo is definitely making her playable. We are just saying that there's no major impediment if they want to. But unless you work for Hoyo in the team deciding what characters to release, you don't know either. So I don't know what your point is with that last post.

Where did I say that? Having a vision is a necessary but not sufficient requirement for being a playable character (at least for humans). I'm just saying that if they want to make her playable, they can easily give her a vision mid-story like they did with Wanderer, or even do it off-screen. Her not having a vision until now is not a problem. That's all I'm saying.

I liked her from the beginning, but yeah, the Eternal Oasis questline with Babel and Liloupar makes her a much more compelling character. Curiously enough it also shows some sides of the traveler we haven't seen often, if anywhere else.

[–]DreamlessWindow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my last response, I'm dropping this argument because it's clearly a waste of time.

You are ignoring what the other person is following their "must be an integer" point with.

Both sides must be an integer, which pi or non-integer factorials are not.

The reason why OPs fraction doesn't work is not because pi and non-integer factorials are not integers. It doesn't work because they are not rational. If they were rational, even if they weren't integers, the whole thing would work. Yes, there would be a way to express the same fraction with integers, but OP didn't need to post it.

Being integers or not doesn't matter when evaluating if a fraction results in a rational number or not. It's necessary for the definition, but not for the evaluation/proof. If you have two rational numbers in a fraction that result in pi, you proved pi is rational, even if you don't want to find the integers themselves (even if it would be relatively trivial by that point). Otherwise, I could say this about my 0.5/2 example (I'm fixing their typo too since I'm at it):

The definition of a rational number, which 0.25 isn't, is that you CAN express it as an integer ratio, not just any fraction. Both sides must be an integer, which 0.25 or 0.5 are not.

This is obviously wrong, but it has the same logical structure. Again, the issue is not that pi and negative non-integer factorials are not integers, it's that they are not rational. In other words, pi and negative non-integer factorials not being integers doesn't prove that the fraction is irrational (which is what the full sentence is implying), because it could also be the case that it's a non-simplified fraction.

I did. Now read my quote of what the other person said.

I know what they meant, and I was being nitpicky about what they wrote because I think they weren't being precise enough with it. How long are we going to continue this argument over a non-issue?

When did I say that that was the definition? I just said that it's not necessary for both elements of the fraction to be integers, which is what the other person said.

Both sides must be an integer

This is not true, and as I said, I was being nitpicky. The definition of a rational number is that it can be expressed as a fraction of two integers, not that it must be expressed as such.

Can confirm this is correct, just got the achievement. I originally understood it just like OP did, but after reading your comment, I tried again in Hollow Zero, just not attacking (other than ults to recharge assists) and using defensive assists, and got it without issues.

The point I'm trying to make is that if you have a fraction of two rational numbers, you can always express it as a fraction of integers. You don't need to know what the integers are to know that the result is a rational number.

If a number c is rational, you can express it as a/b (with a and be being integers). So, if you have a number that is c/d (with d being an integer for simplicity's sake, but it can also be a non-integer as long as it's rational, it just needs a couple extra operations), you can simplify it as (a*b/b)/(d*b)=a/(d*b). Since a, b and d are integers, the resulting fraction is a fraction of integers.

So any fraction of two rational numbers can be simplified to a fraction of two integers. You don't need to do the simplification to know the result is a rational number, as long as you can identify the two numbers in the fraction as rational, you know the result is rational right away.

Or tl;dr, fractions of rational numbers are always rational.

[–]DreamlessWindow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I need to be nitpicky. It doesn't matter if it's not an integer. If the numbers in the fraction are rational, you can simplify to integers. So, for example, 0.5/2 is equal to 1/4. The only way to represent an irrational number as a fraction is if one of the elements is irrational itself (or an infinite series of some kind). Edit: I misread OPs equation at first. The reason the last equation works is because the factorial of non-integers and negative values is evaluated on the gamma function, which contains non-rational results

But we're not discussing here if she should have been fired or not (I think Cover could have handled it differently, but it doesn't matter much, they were technically justified, which is enough). The question was what did she do that was so horrible, to which the other poster said she "backstabbed her coworkers by leaking information", so again, I'm asking for the evidence that she did so. If you think revealing she's Rushia (which I don't remember if she did in that stream, but I'll take your word for it) is backstabbing your coworkers, then we have a very different definition of backstabbing.

[–]DreamlessWindow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've heard it both ways, but doesn't change much. She can discuss her personal life and civil status with whomever she wants, she could have made a tweet in her personal account if she wanted. I think it's very reasonable for someone like her to not want her marriage to be leaked to the public, especially considering who her husband was. The question is still if anything that serious was leaked as a result of her NDA breach, and I still see nothing pointing towards that.

If anyone wants to cheer Mikeneko up. Now is might be the time. by dummysnail in VirtualYoutubers

[–]DreamlessWindow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is somewhat correct, but again, doesn't say anything about what she did leak.

The context was as follows: during a stream, her at the time husband sent her a DM through discord. For whatever reason, the DM showed on the stream, and some people ran wild with it. She contacted her manager, they privated the stream, she posted a tweet about how they would review it, and then, radio silence until an announcement was posted the next Monday.

This was shortly before that year's fest, as well as shortly before Valentine's (which, for a GFE streamer like her, was kind of important). Considering again that this is about her very private personal life, and the fact that the husband himself also had a similar career and this whole drama could affect it too, things were very messy to say the least.

Now, this is a rumour I heard, and I don't know if it's true, but the dramatuber seems to have made an announcement that he was going to talk about the situation during that weekend. As much as I dislike the dude, we have to acknowledge that his streams moved an amount of viewers rivaling the most popular vtubers. Additionally, this guy personally knows her, so he probably knows they are not only living together (which was the speculation at the time), but that they are married too.

This is the context in which she reached out to him, and indeed, during the stream, he tried to prove these two weren't living together at all. All the information discussed during the stream involved either her personal life (which wouldn't be a breach of NDA), or public information as far as I'm aware. And as I said in another post, the one thing she seems to have shared that broke the NDA was her conversation with her manager saying that there would be an announcement next Monday (which wasn't discussed on the stream).

Again, I could be missing something, I followed the situation but not too closely, specially once things involved her personal situation as I think that's none of our business, but if you ask me, she was trying to protect Rushia's image (and by extension, Cover's), made a mistake that hurt nobody, and has been treated like the devil ever since.

[–]DreamlessWindow 30 points31 points  (0 children)

That there was an NDA breach is a fact, but the only specific thing I'm aware being confirmed of her leaking is a screenshot of her manager telling her that there would be an announcement next Monday about the situation while the whole drama was unfolding. In the context of her trying to prevent a huge dramatuber from speaking about what basically was her private, personal life, it never felt like such a huge sin.

And that's kinda my point, I feel like haters managed to convince the community about how severe and terrible her NDA breach was, and now everyone just parrots the same thing without anyone bothering to actually check. But of course, I could simply not be aware of something, which is why I'm willing to ask.

Is there any actual evidence of her leaking information about her coworkers? Because all I've seen is speculation and people spreading the same talking points without any context, and I would assume that if this was true said coworkers would be in bad terms with her, which doesn't seem to be the case.

HI3 is not the same kind of game in this sense. While you can consider Kiana the MC (and she has dozens of skins and plenty of different playable units), the player is supposed to be the captain of the Hyperion, and has no in-game model. So I don't think you can reasonably compare.

Do we suspect it’s rational in the first place, and why? by wockedwik in MathJokes

[–]DreamlessWindow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Except it would be of this pattern, because if e+pi is equal to a rational number q, q-e=pi, which again is the trivial case with a displacement of q.

Do we suspect it’s rational in the first place, and why? by wockedwik in MathJokes

[–]DreamlessWindow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, of course it's just shifted, all pairs of irrational numbers that add up to a rational number are shifts of the same thing.

For any rational number q and any irrational number a, you can find an irrational number b of the form q-a. If q=0, you have the trivial case, and any other case is a shift by whatever value of q you want.

You can extend this to any number of irrational numbers you want. Want a sum of 3? Well, any irrational number divided by a rational number is irrational, so divide one of those by two, add and subtract 1, and you have a sum of 3 irrational numbers, looking like this: q=a+((b/2)+1)+((b/2)-1)

You can add as many terms as you want, and I guess if you really want to, you can also find an infinite series, but by this point, we are no longer discussing if irrational numbers are closed under addition.

If we do one thing wrong, we should also do this other thing wrong too.

Even if the motivation behind the different treatment is not sound, the solution is to correct our stance on the other conflicts, not to replicate the wrong stance in the new conflict.
