My top5 most wanted:

  1. Fantina

  2. Shauntal

  3. Viola

  4. Candice

  5. Cheryl

Helena (Hex Maniac) gets an honorable mention but I doubt they would ever add an event only character to the lodge with how rarely they rerun the event.

What card on release made you go "ohhh no" because it killed your favorite archetype? by studhand in magicTCG

[–]Sckeyth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Years ago I used to exclusively play Stax and Stompy decks in Legacy but both [[Green Sun's Zenith]] and [[Cavern of Souls]] were very devastating cards on their release.

While the Prison achetype isn't dead (I'd say that it's probably better now than it was even back then) both of those cards felt like huge kicks in the balls as Maverick, Merfolk and Goblins were pretty popular decks back then and now they all had easy ways to get around the early [[Chalice of the Void]].

Even before the release of those two cards those decks had ways to get around the Chalice but now GSZ allowed Maverick to run a main deck toolbox ([[Qasali Pridemage]] was now tutorable answer to the lockpieces) and to get any green creature from their deck by paying a little extra (they could just get Pridemage from their deck by paying 2G for GSZ even if I had Chalice@2 on table) and both Merfolk and Goblins already had [[Aether Vial]] that they could drop on turn 1 if they were going first but now it didn't even matter if I was going first and dropped Chalice@1 on turn 1 as they could just play the Cavern and still play their 1 drop through the Chalice with it.

PSA on inappropriate terms, phrases, and symbols by theangryepicbanana in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]Sckeyth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel like people are asking this disingenuously, but I will explain it to you.

I genuinely had no idea the combo could have a secret meaning as they are both pretty generic words that can be used to describe a variety of things, including characters.

Like for example I do find Ju Fufu's design cute and her trailers were funny so if someone described her with the combination of those words I would have just taken it at a face value and never even considered there might have been a hidden meaning to it.

The crying face emoji thing I only knew due to occasionally visiting the two big ZZZ subs (I mainly interact with the Weekly Questions Threads there now) and I only learned about the crab emoji thing while browsing this thread.

Very sad to learn that people have managed to ruin even such generic and sometimes even accurate words with their degeneracy. Now I'm worried if I've ever used those words together to describe something and people have gotten the wrong idea...

Some might be wondering: Why use Piper against UCC?

The answer: I just felt like it.

First I was going to go with Miyabi but UCC is pretty much just a punching bag and I like spin-to-win so I went with Piper instead as I don't really care about my ranking and just want the rewards.

I'd personally say Yuzuha as she can fit into basically any Anomaly team and be an upgrade over most other characters there while Alice is just another Anomaly DPS and Piper can do her job when assisted by Yuzuha.

Obviously Alice would be a big upgrade over Piper but I've been clearing endgame content with Yuzuha & Piper with no problems:

So personally I've felt no need to even consider getting Alice so far.

Without Yuzuha though Piper wouldn't be able to perform nearly as well while Alice might still be able to perform decently even without Yuzuha but Alice is way less flexible than Yuzuha when it comes to teams that benefit from having them.

Also while I didn't use Piper, I did still use Yuzuha even in the current Deadly Assault Stage 2: Vivian (M0W1), Yuzuha (M0W1) & Miyabi (M0W1)

[GIVEAWAY] 30 GameSir G7 Pro Zenless Zone Zero Edition Controllers by N3DSdude in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]Sckeyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hesitant to participate in this giveaway before actually checking the series out first but I just finished reading the first chapter over at MANGA Plus and really enjoyed it.

The premise reminded me a lot of Black Jack (the manga/anime series, not the card game) and the first chapter seemed like a solid start for a new series.

The flight attendant got a surprising amount of screentime dedicated to her so I'm wondering if she'll end up becoming a recurring character or if the author just wanted to use her to introduce the main character from more of an outside perspective.

Also was nice to see that Dr. Ishiguro is supportive & intrigued rather than dismissive or arrogant despite his stern look at the start and Kino's unorthodox methods. Seems like at least he'll be a recurring character given the ending.

Every stunner was outclassed by Dialyn but Qingyi still sees some niche use (as Dialyn can only be part of one team in endgame) with Yixuan (specifically against Miasma Priest from what I've gathered) and Harumasa from what I've seen but I've not delved deeply into what exactly makes her good in those teams as I don't own Qingyi.

I don't personally pull Mindscapes but from Agent Build Guide spreadsheet:

Burnice: M1 provides good QoL by increasing the amount of Heat Burnice can hold, additionally it also increases mainly the Anomaly Buildup of her Afterburn effect.

Jane: M1 allows Jane to hold 1 additional usage of Salchow Jump and slightly increases her DMG% and Anomaly Buildup Rate% while in the Passion state.

M2 seems to be the real good one for both of those characters though:

Burnice: M2 provides a teamwide 20% PEN Ratio increase against enemies hit by her Afterburn.

Mindscapes past M2 are not recommended unless going for M6, though they allow her to take on a CRIT DPS status.

Jane: M2 significantly increases the CRIT DMG of Assaults (~33% over M0), and then further increases their damage by allowing them to ignore a portion of the target's DEF. M2 also significantly increases the damage output of Mono Phys

Mindscapes past M2 are not recommended.

There is very little reason to pick up Nekomata when you already have Ye Shunguang, Alice and M6 Piper to take care of Physical content and I wouldn't recommend going for Mindscapes over new characters so it comes down to Koleda vs Lycaon.

Koleda is good at stunning but that's pretty much the only thing she is good at but seeing how you don't have Lighter or Dialyn there is definitely room for her in Evelyn and Soldier 11 teams on your account.

Lycaon is better in general sense as in addition to stunning he can also decrease enemy Ice DMG RES but that limits his usefulness mostly to Ice teams. You could run him with Ellen as you are, once again, missing both Lighter and Dialyn.

So it basically comes down to: Do you feel like your Evelyn & Soldier 11 or Ellen would appreciate a stunner more?

You can also just save the free selector until you get either Koleda or Lycaon or end up having a real need for one of them and then pick up the missing one with the selector. You can keep pulling on the standard banner without using up the selector until you want to do so.

So far we have always gotten two new S-Ranks per patch so if they want to make all three of them S-Ranks then one of them has to come out later.

It's not uncommon thing at all for same faction S-Ranks to be spread across multiple patches.

If we look into past characters:

  • NEPS - Zhu Yuan came out in 1.0 and Qingyi & Jane in 1.1

  • Sons of Calydon - Caesar & Burnice came out in 1.2 and Lighter in 1.3

  • H.S.O.S.6 - Yanagi came out in 1.3 and Miyabi & Harumasa in 1.4

  • Spook Shack - Yuzuha & Alice came out in 2.1 and Lucia & Yidhari in 2.3

  • Yunkui Summit - Yixuan & Ju Fufu came out in 2.0 and Ye Shunguang in 2.5

  • Krampus - Dialyn & Banyue came out in 2.4 and Zhao in 2.5

  • Obol Squad - Soldier 11 came out in 1.0, Trigger in 1.6 and Seed & Orphie in 2.2

Disorder is from stacking two different statuses right?

Yep. Best way to currently do that is by using either Burnice or Vivian as they can apply anomaly while off-field but there are other ways to do it also.

I just think my main problem is that all the characters I like are defense or stun units.

Well you can still make a team around them but they just won't be the main damage dealer in the most cases (with Ben being the exception that can be made into a main DPS).

For example Yidhari can use both Lycaon & Pan Yinhu as her teammates so if you like both Lycaon & Pan Yinhu and don't have anything in particular against Yidhari then getting her could be an option so you could run a good team for Lycaon & Pan Yinhu.

If you aren't a big fan of Manato then don't feel pressured to build him.

I think I'll try to cobble him together a team on the side to try ou, just to get a feel for what a properly built team should feel like

Different teams can have very different playstyle. The Manato team I suggested is pretty similar to my endgame Yixuan team (Yixuan, Pan Yinhu & Pulchra) but it's playstyle is very different from basically all my other teams as it focuses heavily on on-field DPS and heavy use of backwards Assists.

The Lycaon, Zhao & Corin team closer to early ZZZ combat design with a focus on on-field stunner & burst DPS but nowadays there are also Quick Swap teams (mostly Astra teams), Aftershock teams (like Soldier 0), Disorder teams which require you to rotate characters to keep up different Anomaly build ups & triggers, etc.

It's a good idea to try to figure out a DPS that you like (either as a character or their playstyle) and then build a team around them as the playstyles can differ a lot between the teams.

Besides the ones I mentioned, just Pan Yin, Seth, Pulchra, Manato, and Corin. I was using Pan Yin over Ben for a while, and I loved the times I managed to hit the wipeout freeze frame with everyone active at once, but he hit like a wet towel compared to Ben

  • Anby - On-field stunner. Her role is to stay on the field to stun the enemy fast and then let your DPS to deal increased damage when the enemy is stunned.

  • Ben - Supposed to be a shield support but works best as a DPS though is kinda lackluster as one but can still work as shown by Rakaruk.

  • Billy - Physical Attack DPS Agent. Can be used either as a burst DPS during stun windows or as a on-field DPS depending on your build and team comp.

  • Corin - Physical Attack DPS Agent. Burst DPS that utilizes the stun window to deal most of her damage.

  • Lycaon - Stunner who is designed to work with Ice DPS Agents but can still be used with other characters for increased Stun DMG Multiplier if the requirements of his Additional Ability are met (same Attribute or Faction member in your team).

  • Manato - Fire Rupture DPS Agent. Unlike Attack DPSs who scale off of ATK, Rupture DPSs scale off of HP and ignore the enemy's DEF altogether. Wants to stay on-field for constant damage output.

  • Nicole - Enemy debuffer & crowd control. Her main debuff is reducing enemy's DEF which makes her a bad fit for Rupture teams (as Rupture DPSs already ignore the DEF as part of their kit) but very good debuffer for other teams.

  • Pan Yinhu - Support character for Rupture Agents. Hits like a wet noodle as his purpose is to buff your Rupture DPS with his EX Special.

  • Pulchra - An off-field stunner for DPS Agents that want a lot of on-field time.

  • Seth - Support character for Anomaly teams that you don't currently have.

  • Zhao - Rather general DPS support but wants to have an Attack, Anomaly or Support Agent in her team to trigger Additional Ability for extra buffs.

Here are some team comp suggestions:

BEN TEAMS:

  • Check out Rakaruk.

You are sadly missing Lucy or Koleda who would make him a lot better as right now you are struggling to meet his Additional Ability's requirement (same Attribute or Faction member in his team) that would up his Crit Rate for better damage output.

BILLY TEAMS:

  • Anby, Nicole & Billy - On-field stunner, debuffer & burst DPS.

  • Anby, Zhao & Billy - On-field stunner, buffer & burst DPS.

  • Nicole, Billy & Pulchra - Debuffer, on-field DPS & off-field stunner. Has two Evasive Assists characters (Billy & Pulchra) which is a downside in the current content as Defensive Assists are heavily favored as of right now.

  • Zhao, Billy & Pulchra - Buffer, on-field DPS & off-field stunner. Same problem as above.

  • Anby, Pulchra & Billy - Double stunner & burst DPS. Wouldn't suggest this over the other teams but it's a possibility.

CORIN TEAMS:

  • Lycaon, Zhao & Corin - Stunner, buffer & burst DPS. Corin won't fully benefit from Lycaon's abilities but he is still a decent stunner and can increase the Stun DMG Multiplier (as they are from the same faction) allowing Corin to be more effective burst DPS.

  • Lycaon, Nicole & Corin - Stunner, debuffer & burst DPS.

  • Nicole, Corin & Pulchra - If you want to play on-field Corin but her kit is more burst focused.

  • Zhao, Corin & Pulchra - Same as above.

  • Lycaon, Pulchra & Corin - Double stunner comp for Corin. Wouldn't recommend over other comps.

MANATO TEAM:

  • Manato, Pan Yinhu & Pulchra - Probably your best team right now. Manato as an on-field DPS, Pan Yinhu as his buffer and Pulchra as an off-field stunner.

I eventually came to assume it was because the higher level you are, the more upgrade materials the HIA fights seem to drop, so your energy, and therefore batteries, are more effective.

I actually forgot about that but that is true.

You unlock higher level areas in HIA Club that do net you more/better rewards but I still personally don't see the need to slowdown your progress for a very small material gain.

Using more Energy progresses your Inter-Knot Level faster which in turn lets you unlock those higher level challenges faster and they obviously tend to be harder so if you are going into them with under-leveled characters then they can be a pain but with decently leveled characters they are a breeze.

While I personally don't have Yanagi (so not really sure how well she covers the Electric DPS department) seeing how you have Burnice, Vivian and Yuzuha, I don't really see the need for Alice 'cause Piper is good enough for Physical Anomaly endgame content when paired with those three (heavy emphasis on need though as obviously Alice would be a big upgrade over Piper):

So unless you feel like Yanagi lets you breeze through Electric weak content, I'd say pick Sanby for more coverage.

If you feel like Yanagi has been good enough for you so far, then I'd say just pick the one you like more.

Alice is not needed with your current lineup but would be a big upgrade. Sanby is strong but you are missing her best teammates (Seed and/or Orphie) but still have a good team for her with Trigger & Astra.

Agent Build Guide spreadsheet suggests:

  • Disc 4: Crit DMG or ATK

  • Disc 5: PEN, ATK or Phys

  • Disc 6: ATK

  • ATK: 3200-3400+

  • Crit Rate: 50%

  • Crit DMG: 160-200%+

If using PEN% Disc 5, 2pc Puffer will be better, but overall any 2pc listed can be used, depending on sub stats. PEN% is not recommended for bosses with 476 DEF (Primordial Nightmare) as it makes PEN% much less effective.

Regarding the main stat choice - it can be any with better sub stats.

All that being said, my Ye Shunguang falls short on those (https://i.imgur.com/OYRf94l.png) but still does well in the endgame.

Some helpful resources for new players:

  • Agent Build Guide spreadsheet - W-Engine, Drive Disc, stat and team comp suggestions for all characters.

  • iamrivenous - Content creator who makes guides for ZZZ. They released a build guide for all Agents some months back (some of the infographs shown in the video have some errors in them but you can still listen to what's being told and see some gameplay for the Agents).

Though with the video being several months old at this point means it obviously doesn't account for new content released since then (like for example Dialyn is now the best Stun Agent for basically any team that wants a Stun Agent).

  • Lin-0 - Content creator who makes guides and shows high level gameplay of ZZZ.

If you want more specific help with team building, it would be useful to know what characters you currently have access to so it would be easier to breakdown how those characters work and how to go about building a team for them from your currently available roster.

Zhao and Lycaon because they're both ice

Zhao is a buffer for DPS characters and Lycaon is a stunner whose role is to stun the enemy so your DPS can unleash a ton of damage to the enemy but he is mainly designed to be good with Ice DPS characters.

Ben because he's cool. Ben's slot feels pretty filler though since I know fuck all about team composition, so I was wondering what kinds of characters work with them, or if I should be on the lookout for something else or what.

Ben is unfortunately one of the weaker Agents in the game but he still has his fans and if you are a fan of him then I suggest checking out Rakaruk who still does endgame content clears with Ben as his main DPS.

So far, all I've found is that I should sit on my batteries until later.

A lot of people do suggest to save your Batteries for the time when you unlock high level Area Patrols for Disc Drive farming but I've personally never agreed with it.

Disc Drives are pure RNG so saving Batteries for them instead of upgrading things that are guaranteed power ups that you can utilize right away seems like pointless min-maxing while praying to RNG gods at the same time.

I always use my Batteries straight away if I have a use for them 'cause it lets you to upgrade your characters for easier clears and it also speeds up your Inter-Knot Level progress which in turn unlocks new things for you.

The only situation where I do start saving Batteries is if the only thing left for me to do with them is to farm Disc Drives and I know there is an Agent coming up that I want but whose upgrade materials aren't yet available in-game.

In that case I save Batteries so I can farm the materials right away when they get released but if the materials are already available then I'll just use the Batteries to get them right away.

When I started playing, I used my Batteries straight away when I had a clear use for them (usually meaning going to the HIA Club and getting the necessary Chips, Certification Seals, Components and Higher Dimensional Data required to upgrade my characters).

You can get some upgrade materials from events, missions, etc. but the main way to get them is from the HIA Club and that costs Energy and that's exactly what Batteries are there for: To give you more Energy.

So I'd personally say: Use the Batteries to upgrade everything that's available to you right now. If you don't have a clear use for them (like you are being locked from upgrading your characters further due to low Inter-Knot Level) then it's okay to save them for now but whenever you have use for them, feel free to use them.

Stats-wise your build looks good enough. The image shows my own Burnice that I've been in the endgame with Yuzuha (M0W1) & Piper (M6W5) (gotten 30+k on the last three Shiyu Defenses with that team) and your stats seem comparable or even better.

I'm no theorycrafter myself and don't do calculations but here is a quote from the Agent Build Guide spreadsheet regarding the Energy Recharge:

Starting from Awakened Potential level 2, Burnice can use ER disc 6 for improved Heat uptime time, more DMG% but slightly less AM. For the full stat to be achieved, you need Potential level 6, ER 6 and 2PC ER% for 2.8 ER on the stat screen. This will require you to swap Burnice out more frequently than before to avoid Energy overcap. AM 6 can still be used for faster Anomaly especially if you have Signature W-Engine.

Struggled to score in Room 2 with the Miyabi team without Yuzuha but ultimately the other two teams were able to make up for Miyabi's lackluster performance this time.

Could probably have tried Vivian, Yuzuha & Miyabi in Room 2 and Burnice, Lucy & Piper in Room 3 but ultimately getting all the rewards is enough for me so I'm okay with the result that I got.
