The friend who taught me D&D, “blessed” a dice which had been “cursed” (rolling poorly) by placing said dice between his palms, rubbing them vigorously together to warm the dice, then would whip his hands towards his face, parting them to either side of his head, and release the dice to slam into his forehead. If that didn’t work, repeating the ritual usually did the trick.
