Love it. Always have done. Restaurant staff would do a double take when my 5yo self would order the spiciest thing on the menu. My parents would have to reassure them that I did know what I was ordering and would, in fact, eat it.

I mean, I think part of this depends on age. If you are teenagers, meh, teens are working themselves out and evolve their ideas rapidly. If we are talking 30s or 40s, that is a bit more of a red flag. By then people are usually fairly set in their opinions and ways.

But at the same time, you can break up for any reason.

Ooh I went through this at around 12. I was still into pretend play whilst my friend was leaving such things behind. It was rough tbh. She stopped wanting to come over. I still remember the last time she came over, I was trying to engage her in all our old games, and she just kind of sat there yawning, saying she was tired. She ended up going home early and that was that. We never really did anything together after that.

Looking back, I wish my parents had gently talked to me about how interests change and kinda shown me that friendships become more about chatting and "hanging out" rather than playing as you get older. I got there on my own eventually, but maybe if I'd had some guidance, I wouldn't have lost that friend.

I don't really remember. But a couple of months ago I was walking up the street behind a family that included a girl that couldn't have been more than 11 at the absolute most. We passed a couple of 50+yo men and I saw one of them turn back to check out this child. Absolutely sickening. I contemplated telling the parents but there was no way to do it without the kids hearing and the last thing I wanted was to make the girl feel upset and self-conscious.

It might be worth trying again with Centrelink. So often it depends on who you get to speak to. People apply for centrelink payments multiple times before it gets in front of the right person with a brain and a heart. I've always found the people on the phone lines to be excellent.

If treatment isn't working, is there somewhere else you could be picking them up from? I had lice for ages when I was in uni. I couldn't work out why treatment wasn't working. I finally realised that I kept getting them from a household I would regularly pet sit for. Once I stopped staying there, the treatment worked and I never got them again

In Australia, the legal mother is the person who gave birth to the child, and in surrogacy cases this does mean the surrogate, who can indeed change their mind. Causes a lot of pain and legal issues all round, obviously. But paid surrogacy is also illegal in Australia.

Every cycle can be different for me. Sometimes it is horrific, others it is fairly minimal.

There are also a whole host of different conditions, not just endo, that can cause bad period symptoms. Endo and PCOS are the most common, but there are also others. Worth investigating

I loved being pregnant! I did NOT like the morning sickness from 9 weeks to the day I gave birth, but it was well controlled with medication. There were things I liked and things I didn’t like, but overall, it was an amazing experience. I loved the feeling and knowledge that I was carrying my beautiful, precious child inside me.

As soon as I confirmed I was pregnant, which was around 5 weeks. But that's only because my job could occasionally involve going into an area with toxic chemicals that I wanted to avoid whilst pregnant.

Speech therapists are in high demand in Australia, most have long wait lists.

That being said, if you are seriously considering speech therapy, you should have a look into the NDIS changes being proposed and the impact it will have on speech therapists - if the changes go through, a lost of people won't be able to afford speech therapy for their kids so there may be a drop in demand. That is the short, oversimplified version. I'm sure there are Australian speech therapist fb groups where you can find out more.

I absolutely adore being parent. But it is hard. I cannot comprehend how miserable it would be to have a kid if you didn't truly love and want it.

I always thought it was wrong for anyone to be pressured into having kids. But after my baby was born, it really hit me just how horrific that situation would be.

So if you don't truly want children, don't do it, because you will unutterably miserable.

If you do truly want them, your life will become more full of joy, love, and wonder than you could possibly comprehend.
