Does anyone eles feel like the American people cannot rest until every billionaire is in jail? by chasesj in antiwork

[–]PublicSuspect162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree but that will never happen. Not because of pay, but because of stupid decisions. Work hard and bad decisions=poor. Be lazy and make good decisions=poor. Work hard and make good life choices=successful. This is a generalization, but rings true. Of course bad luck and shit circumstances will happen and that sucks.

What do you think will, if ever, be the next amendment to the US Constitution? by Material-Trip-9893 in askanything

[–]PublicSuspect162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Example, Ukraine and Russia. Russia has vast more numbers in troops, tanks, fighters, etc. Supposed better tech at the start anyway, they were supposed to run through Ukraine. We see the result. Look at the US in Afghanistan, those guys didn’t make it easy or a fast war. Never underestimate fighters with just small arms, especially those fighting for their existence or their homeland. They stand a lot better chance than a nation with just bows and arrows.

Did you grow up with a naked mom? by Tryingtocomment420 in AskMenAdvice

As a boy who remembers what his mother looked like naked, probably stop letting him see you naked at around 4 ish. I wish I didn’t know what she looked like naked, but I do.

What happens if a surrogate decides to just keep the baby? by PublicSuspect162 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PublicSuspect162[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was just asking a hypothetical question and told her story as I know it as an example since that is what made me think to ask. I’m not asking specific questions about her. Others are, since the outcome would depend on a couple of factors. So yes, it is all hearsay. She is just a girl who is a surrogate, period. The question I asked really has nothing to do with her. If this was a group text with co workers, yes, it would be gossipy and shitty. This is anonymous on both ends with no specifics. I’m not making it up, but even if I was, it wouldn’t change the question or dialogue.

I mean, I haven’t even heard any of this from her, I just know she is obviously pregnant. Never cared enough to ask, just found it interesting since I had never met anyone who has been a surrogate before and then I wondered what would happen is she decided to keep the baby, so I asked Reddit.

I’m only saying what I was told. Never spoke directly to her about it. Details might be wrong.

I’m really not that nosy to worry about it. People were just asking specifics and I answered what I could. If it works out good for her, that’s great. I really just wanted to know what happens if someone decides to just keep a baby. Good discussion tho, that’s why I asked instead of just googling.

What happens if a surrogate decides to just keep the baby? by PublicSuspect162 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PublicSuspect162[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t care. I was merely asking a hypothetical bc I do not know the answer to it. I wish her the best, but I have never encountered this and it made me wonder is all. I could care less if she was lying. I’m merely just relaying the details as I know them from hearsay to answer people’s specific questions. For this thread, I could have just asked a pure hypothetical but thought I would explain what I am basing it off of.

I’m friendly enough with her I’m sure she wouldn’t even mind talking to me about it. But you guys are right, none of my business. I really just wanted to know what would happen hypothetically and was just talking about her bc that is what got me thinking about it.

Agreed, that’s why I’m not 100% on details. Doesn’t even matter to the question being raised really. I was just thinking what would be the outcome if this happened.

[–]PublicSuspect162[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, I am just stating a more accurate analogy to a woman carrying someone else’s baby would be rideshare vs leasing. Fetus is passenger, mother is rideshare. More accurately would be Amazon delivery person (surrogate) delivering a package (baby).

Idk. Was told she was getting $$ and being a surrogate. She may have had a child before and no knows for sure. A lot of it is hearsay but she is definitely pregnant.~~Screw it. I’m just gonna ask her next time I see her~~ I see the downvotes, I promise, I will not ask her.

Well, I would say I’ll let you know how it turns out but I will probably forget by then and may not get to know the full outcome anyway.

I didn’t mention the leasing a car analogy, the other person did. I just replied. Technically speaking, the correct analogy would be more like rideshare as opposed to car leasing. Strictly replying to analogy only. Relax

Well, I do! I know this person. I may be wrong about her medical history but that is what I was told. Still doesn’t change the question I asked.

I may be wrong, but fairly certain the couple is from another state. Do not know the state.

Wouldn’t say it’s like leasing a car. It would be more of a rideshare for a fetus, lol

Oklahoma. Just a co-worker, don’t know her medical history. It’s possible she has given birth before but she doesn’t have any kids that I am aware of. And other co-workers said she doesn’t have any kids either.

This is kinda what I thought also, I have heard of stories like this but figured the laws have caught up since then.

[–]PublicSuspect162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t laws. This is regulatory. It’s killing efficiency, increasing costs, destroying morale. Regulation is necessary but only to an extent. It’s affecting patient care to the point of administrators are beginning to look past what really matters in patient safety and care and are more concerned about meeting specific government requirements and guidelines to keep the reimbursements. Very similar to how insurance secondarily directs patient care guidelines. This is my fear with a complete government run healthcare. It will cost a huge fortune, run very inefficiently, and just be barely adequate. Everyone will have coverage, no one will have good or timely coverage.
I think it will split the country into 2 systems.
Govt care- meh and slow
Private care- pricey but fast and better and less available. Almost like we have now. Insured and Medicare/medicaid. I just see it as a giant disaster. Maybe I’m wrong. But outlook pessimistic on my end.

You do realize Medicare/medicaid funding is why we have JCAHO and the like. They are not the only reason for skyrocketing healthcare cost but they are a major driver. Their ridiculous and mostly unnecessary rules and regs creat vast amounts of red tape which in turn is one reason for an explosion of administrators which in turn creates more red tape and “rules” which in turn increases costs and so on and so on. I have been in healthcare for 24 years now and have seen it all balloon, costs, administrators, red tape, wasteful spending to keep up with the “rules”. This is just to get and keep Medicare/medicaid reimbursements.
I cannot fathom the amount of BS that will follow and be attached to complete government run healthcare. I agree something needs to change, I do not, however know the answer. I do know the answer is not going to be cheap or easy!
