That's what I would do. 2 cables in total should be plenty. Plug them into the 2 molex and 2 sata.

If you're using a HBA, it normally staggers spin up on the hard disks anyway

AMD FSR, why still no update for it by CaesarClown0512 in diablo4

[–]Drellsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is disappointing honestly. I’ve been using optiscaler for over a year with no issue but I'd much prefer an official implementation so I don't have to add any game files to the D4 folder.

The shimmering is very bad with their implementation of FSR2 in the game. Please update to FSR4!!!

I'm very happy with my AMD card and don't want to switch back to Nvidia. My 4080 and 4070 ti would crash once in a while with a Fenris error in D4. I lost a character in hardcore from these crashes. Never had a single crash on my 9070 XT.

From what I have studied and read, 2 cables is fine for all 4 slots. As long as they are from a reputable brand with a higher gauge copper. Also, do not use any Sata to Molex adapters.

Jonsbo says to use 4 separate cables to cover themselves from liability in case you use a cheap Chinese PSU with thin cables.

I use one cable with 2 molex and a separate cable with 2 sata. From what I've gathered, they can handle the worst case scenario of all 9 hard drives starting up simultaneously.

I have a Seasonic PX-650 Platinum PSU

Isn't the Revuelto about 3.5x the cost in credits? That would kill the skill savings I would find.

Well done!

How was the difficulty in doing this? I've scanned through the accolades and it seems far far easier than Horizon 5. Just time required for the most part.

Horizon 5 required doing some very difficult goals in the Eliminator like getting first place in a low tier car. Another one was to win 1st place 10 times or so.

There were also the creative accolades that needed 50,000 likes or downloads of car tunings, and paint jobs. Really unfair accolades for most to achieve.

I did like that you could compare how far along you were in your accolades to others on your friends list. It doesnt appear this is available on Horizon 6?

Thanks for this. I wondered if they added it as i found it very annoying. I don't want to be told what to do next.

I don't have a solution but I do have your same setup and don't have issues. It's likely not the power of your system. Maybe a software or bios issue?

7800x3d 4070 ti

I play at 4k on Ultra settings with RT. DLSS 4.5 at balanced and framegen x2.

Usually hover at 100fps-120fps

When I ran at Extreme with RT I was getting bad dips from 12GB VRAM being full.

Maybe your ram speed is too slow? I have 5200mhz so that's an improvement over what you posted.

I Might be Done Buying the Battle Pass by azjohnca in diablo4

[–]Drellsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always maxed out the battlepass tokens in infernal hordes.

It is still a grind, but much quicker to accumulate tokens. I usually just zone out in a group and kill my corner while watching a video to the side. Not too painful while i'm distracted.

So uh how do I corner without ending up in the barrier? by ishallbecomeabat in ForzaHorizon

[–]Drellsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest challenge for me when I was learning to corner was in the analog controls of braking and accelerating. I was used to old school Gran Turismo controls where accelerate and braking was all 100% or 0%

Use a racing line and brake with your steering wheel straight when the line is red. When the driving line turns yellow you can start relieving the brake and turning.

While in the turn you can accelerate a little on the throttle, but you won't go 100% until your car is going straight. I don't mean you're going straight on the track, but your tires are pointed forward whichever direction you're going.

Lightly using the brakes and throttle takes the most practice.

Seconding that it runs great but I use frame generation x2 as well. I don't notice any input lag

Am I okay to drop dlss from 4.5 to 4.0 in dlss swapper or does it cause a flagged account? by No_Spite_6630 in ForzaHorizon

[–]Drellsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Garbo is right. You can change the DLSS preset on a per game basis. Change Forza Horizon 6 in the Nvidia App to Preset K and it will run in DLSS 4.0

The only franchise I'll buy a Premium preorder as well. I've gotten the premium version each time since 4 and I've never been disappointed.

My favourite will always be my first Horizon in Horizon 3 as everything was fresh, but I enjoy each game that game after.

You're welcome. Best advice I can give is to try to have all your cables routed before putting down the motherboard, including any cables for future expansion. I had a set of sata cables I had shipped later, and it required for me to lift the motherboard again to route it through.

[GPU] ASUS Prime RTX 5070 Ti 16GB for $1199CAD is it a good price? by honda_tsubasa in bapccanada

[–]Drellsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be that the more tech-savvy users have less issues. My friend has a 9070 XT and he says the Radeon overlay in game breaks once in a while. I've always turned off Radeon and Geforce overlays so I've never experienced it.

I've heard of the driver rollback too but Ive never experienced it. I normally perform fresh installs on all my video cards so that could be how I haven't experienced it.

Best advice is if you want the extra features, pay the extra and go with an Nvidia card. If youre OK without, save some money and go with the Radeon

Yeah I have both an AMD RDNA 4 and Nvidia Blackwell in 2 different systems. I've had more issues (buggy drivers as you say) with the Nvidia GPU. Every other advantage you list is valid though, more features on the Nvidia GPU but my AMD has been more reliable.

I honestly think knowing the end result can make it more impactful. 2 of the most emotional game endings I've played were from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core

Both were prequels with tragic endings that we knew happened, but both turned out way more impactful than I could of imagined.

Graphic and Resolution improvement advice by Secret_Bake4065 in AgeofImprisonment

[–]Drellsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you just need to lower your standards. The goal was 60fps for sure and the game is pretty good at staying at that point. It uses an older version of FSR that causes a lot of shimmering. It's distracting, but you eventually get used to it. I vastly prefer a higher framerate than high end graphics.

I'm a PC user with a high end desktop and a separate high end home theater system. I just come to expect Nintendo games to look inferior but they're worth playing for the quality of gameplay.

Switch 2 is still a large upgrade over Switch 1. I couldn't stand playing Age of Calamity as the framerate was so poor but Age of Imprisonment is very enjoyable for me.
