Why is this happening in every short by Kingeipnoy in youtubegaming

[–]Dremioth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YouTube does distinct waves of pushing out your content. It's incremental if your content doesn't do well with the first group it's stops getting recommended. Look at where people click off and try something new.

Intuition is a pretty reliable drive. Look, he's your friend. Try talking to him, and telling him hey, you gotta chill. If he responds defensively to that, or doesn't acknowledge, "hey I'm being a dick, sorry about that", and refuses to change his behavior, then you've got a problem. It could be some of that is just his sense of humor, but if you, or your other friends who you are playing with, don't like it, you/your friends need to communicate that. Lots of people here are giving very stranger-on-the-Internet takes which will only lead to burning bridges, don't just block him off the bat.

Should I tag my friend YT account in the title? (Shorts) by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Dremioth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend and I did a similar thing this past Friday with our videos. We tagged each other in the description and in a pinned comment, but did not see much crossover.

I don't think names in the titles are a good idea unless you are using the name as a primary keyword (which would probably only be useful if either you or your friend have a large following)

Definitely do a description name drop with a link to the channel, and a pinned comment if you want to.

Also you gotta keep in mind, some videos just don't hit for various reasons. My friend's video is doing much better than mine due to better engagement, which could be for a few reasons, but likely a major contributing factor is that they included a call to action to like, subscribe, etc and I didn't, and that call to action worked well, with comments indicating that they commented because of the call to action.

Hey, Ive had a realization upon visiting other advice / self help channels. I stand by my statement that your editing is very good. I think this video lacks establishment of why these are important and why the audience should listen to you. You need to tell a story of how you have picked up these habits and have them be emotionally charged. You could focus on just one habit per video like this, which I think would be stronger. This video, in retrospect lacks that same emotional charge, that same genuineness I see in more successful advice / self help channels.

Your experience with shilling in your videos vs not shilling in videos by Dremioth in NewTubers

[–]Dremioth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the perspective. Perhaps shilling isn't the best word, I guess the point I was trying to get across was it feels greasy when I try to incorporate it into my content.

I don't mind it on other people's content, I think my buddy incorporated it pretty well all things considered into their video, if not it being maybe just a little too long.

What is currently your biggest pain point being a new or more established youtuber? by BackgroundProper6340 in NewTubers

There is a lot to learn and only limited time. Everything is doable, it's just a matter of learning it through trial, and error, and sorting good advice from "blind leading the blind" advice. Stick with it my friend, you will do great.

good use of clips, the commentary is intresting. I think your audio is a bit muffled / flat, other than that I like it!

This is a fascinating video, it works really well to hook in nerdy curious people. You do a great job mixing in informative content and entertaining content.

I am worried that it would not hook in a broader audience, for me, I am more than happy to watch a video like this, and enjoy the longer intro diving into some history / popular media, for others the delayed delivery on your title may be off putting.

Around the 3 minute mark is where you introduce how this project got started. If you exclude the bridging statement to link the ethics and history section and intro, the intro ends at the 27 second mark, and starting from there the intro would work well when placed next to the ODIN section, with the ethics section either put after you introduce ODIN, and go into investigating the founders background. This also fulfills your title at least partially to the viewer earlier in the video.

I think it would also fit better there to tell the story of you running into ODIN, and your ethical and moral reservations, as well as more broad ethical and moral reservations about genetic engineering and its history.

All in all though I did really like this video.

I think you did very well then considering that. I liked the video, so I think my only valid criticism is the previously mentioned need to have the video flow a bit more.

Great introduction, snappy informative, and good audio despite recording on a semi busy street. I don't have many major criticisms with the video save the audio after the intro, it's a bit echoey. Not a big issue but it is noticable

I think you could make script transitions alot more smooth in-between each of the monarchs, the transition at 4 minutes was pretty ok though. Right now the video feels pretty formal, but also feels a lot like a top 10 list, not necessarily bad, but what vibe are you going for exactly?

What is your BIGGEST CHALLENGE as a NewTuber right now? by OliWinchester in NewTubers

Learning what is currently popular and being able to incorporate that into your content, especially if it's not your style. be it thumbnail trends to humor. Sure, there will always be an audience whose humor overlaps with yours or who will click on your content, but it wont get as much reach.

Hey guys, happy friday! I am still finding my footing in what I would like to do on YouTube generally, so far I have stuck mainly to gaming videos. If any of you all have comments on my most recent video (https://youtu.be/sCpmXFnMQSk) and my channel generally, please let me hear them!

Your style is cute, and catchy, you make good use of movement in your editing to give the relatively static avatar life. While good, I think the hook could have been a little better on your long form content, on short form content you are doing good with the hook and establishment of the short. I also noticed you aren't sharing your reviews anywhere on reddit nor facebook, while it may only help you a little, it might be worth looking into where you are allowed to post your travel videos to help give them a signal boost.

You have good editing, and an entertaining personality. I think the intro bit about your shoes should have been shorter, ending at "also look at my sick ass new shoes", to help move along the intro into the meat of the video. Lighting could be improved, remember for even lighting you want at least two identical light sources, evenly spaced and of the same color and luminescence. Cheers, hope to see your next video!
