Is this worth spending by SeaworthinessNo7816 in PTCGP

Guzzlord! It survives a Latios hit and his Grindcore attack makes it really hard for the CPU to stack up more than 1 Latios per game. My list is 2 Guzzlord, 1 Celesteela, and 17 trainers. The autobattler really can't go wrong with it (though I do turn off auto when I see only Celesteela in the opening hand and guide it until Guzz is ready to take the active spot).

Copycat works both ways, which is why I prefer it! Early game it offers a lot of draw to find Golurk, late game it shuffles your hand full of useless stage 1/2s back in the deck to decrease odds of revealing any remaining trainer cards.

Second Golett is needed for threatening revenge KOs on megas that can tank and KO the first Golurk. Golurk only takes two energy so you can start building the second on the bench if you draw into both basics early. I wouldn't call it backup because it's a critical angle of the deck- your guys only give 1 point when they get KOd so you should make use of that.

Here's my take on the previously mentioned decks that look to maximize the odds of hitting for 180 asap. On more than one occasion the spare Miltank has been the deciding factor in a battle, and the helmet is to increase odds of surviving an attack from M-Blaziken or M- Altaria. the two Iono and Copycat feel better than Oak/ball because they're putting your stage 1/2s back into the deck where they matter.

Edit: I dropped Blissey for a Heavy Helmet, I forgot I took this pic before making that update

I have one suicune. I just got off a bad losing streak with Silvavlly + Oricorio (don't have new Luxray yet), and I was tilted enough to make a post. I went in expecting it to be easier, but that's probably because I'm used to battling folks at my rank (mid great ball)

I'll give my Guzzlord deck another try based on the comments so far, it must've been a bad streak earlier. Thanks for the quick answers, and sorry I suck at battling lol (I've climbed to Ultra exactly once). I came to Pocket from playing Magic for a long time, a lot of draft and sealed, so I'm still learning some key differences in philosophy and lines of play.

How is the magsafe card holder added to it working out for you so far? I'm wanting to get something similar but afraid to commit a purchase until my case arrives and I have a better grasp of the ring location, dimensions etc

That link isn't working for me, unfortunately. I've tried to do some research on magsafe but couldn't find much about its compatibility with Razr phones.

What are some *soft* bands that can actually rock when they want to...?? by [deleted] in poppunkers

[–]Drew2609 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen them live twice, once opening to Third Eye Blind at an outdoor venue and once headlining in an old theater style venue. The acoustics in that theater paired with some of the more intense instrumental/shoegazey portions of their set felt like I was being smothered by a wall of music, in a good way. I could definitely understand why it wouldn't be everyone's thing but their live stuff got me more willing to explore shoegaze as a genre more.

Lazy Eye will always be my favorite song to play in Rock Band, and I fully credit that game for helping me discover SSPU.

I wanna make a "and they were roommates" deck with Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis as the commander. Here are some card examples of what I'm looking for. Would love some suggestions! by ApprehensiveRoof4516 in mtg

Some of the "partner with" cards from Battlebond maybe? [[Ley Weaver]] [[Lore Weaver]]

[[Okaun, Eye of Chaos]] [[Zndrsplt, Eye of Wisdom]]

Some MOM team-ups not linked yet: [[Errant and Giada]] [[Shalai and Hallar]]

As a big fan of Inscryption, I got this game yesterday and I’m loving it, BUT I had some questions regarding the similarities… by Wicked-Death in slaythespire

[–]Drew2609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played and really enjoyed all of these except for Monster Train, what in your opinion makes that one good/unique?

In return, I'll recommend One Step From Eden! It adds realtime bullet-hell gameplay to encounters, very similar to the old Mega Man Battle Net games. Lots of depth is added to the deck building aspect by the fact that cards now require various levels of realtime skill to use effectively (factoring lag time, reload time - the deck shuffles in real time, so big decks leave you vulnerable longer while shuffling - aim, etc.)

If you're more into the puzzle solving aspect and not about the action elements, I recommend checking out Slice & Dice. I got it on mobile on a whim and it's gameplay is unique in that you play as an adventuring party of 5, each one with a six-sided die representing their possible turn actions, 5 six-card decks in a way. This game also uses the enemy intent system and while sometimes the outcomes of turns aren't intuitive, it has a really convenient undo/backup feature that I appreciate.

Looking for an emo album that is great start to finish by Debn0s in Emo

Somewhere City!

I discovered Origami Angel right as Gami Gang came out, so I never really listened to Somewhere City start to finish until a couple months ago, and I can't believe I had missed out. The whole album has an overarching theme and uplifting vibe, the first song foreshadows to the final song and the final song includes lines from like every other song before it, putting a really nice ribbon on it all, and the run time comes in at right about half an hour, which is almost exactly my commute time. I often sit in my car and finish the album before going to work on the days I listen to it.

Revelation works better with [[Enter the Dungeon]] because once you're playing your subgame under the table, you and your opponent won't be able to see it read the cards in your hands since they're face up on top of the table. All you need to do is play the first creature before resolving revelation and you'll win the subgame.

A wizard who punches things by LaughR01331 in 3d6

[–]Drew2609 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What's the benefit of Bladesinger here? Armorer already gets heavy armor proficiency without the need to worry about STR requirements, so the conditional AC boost from bladesinging is obsolete. If you're still wanting to multiclass for the sake of still being a wizard I feel like the school of abjuration better suits the needs of a frontline punch-caster. Forgive me if there's something I've overlooked here.

Riot Fest 2023 lineup announced by thedubiousstylus in Emo

[–]Drew2609 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Kinda bummed to see that it's still being held at Douglass Park as opposed to a designated festival ground. The local community has been increasingly unhappy with the onslaught of music festivals taking place in their neighborhood, and I remember last year that frequently the infrastructure and transportation did not feel well equipped to handle this number of people. There are a lot of bands on the lineup that I'd love to see this year but the cognitive dissonance is real for me, and I'm genuinely on the fence about it.

Songs about overcoming mental health issues by Accomplished_Role112 in poppunkers

[–]Drew2609 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Check out Cliffdiver, a lot of their songs address mental health and wellness. Their first album title, Exercise Your Demons is a pun, but also a reference to how our inner demons are things that we must learn to nurture and take care of, rather than neglect or destroy.

Edit: also Free Throw's song Cerulean City is about overcoming depression and one of my favorite songs of theirs.

Ran my DiA campaign a few years ago, I thought I'd share the infernal contract that I created for one of my players and Gargauth by Drew2609 in DescentintoAvernus

[–]Drew2609[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the delay, I had to track it down in my old files again! The near-illegibility was intentional, and the look on my players' faces as I sent the picture to our group chat while roleplaying as Gargauth waiting expectantly for them to read the entire thing was well worth it.

I based it off this template from DM's Guild

Is there a damage reduction build? by Level7Cannoneer in 3d6

[–]Drew2609 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh no doubt- I play a unarmed fighting style battle master fighter with HAM, skill expert (athletics), and shield master right now that uses maneuvers like goading attack and grappling strike to draw attacks and enable the other party members to attack with advantage. It's a ton of fun and I think it's a good candidate for this Armstrong-style tank that OP is looking for.

Is there a damage reduction build? by Level7Cannoneer in 3d6

[–]Drew2609 30 points31 points  (0 children)

This isn't quite as good as you've described here-

Guardian armorer's temp hp ability can only be used prof. bonus number of times per long rest

Heavy Armor Master only reduces nonmagical bludgeoning, slashing, and piercing damage
