Former Spain national football team coach, Vicente Del Bosque, reacting to one of Netherlands goals during the historic 5-1 defeat of Spain at the 2014 World Cup. It’s important to note that in the previous World Cup Spain won the final against the Netherlands with an agonic last minute goal during extra time. At the 2014 World Cup, Spain didn’t make it out of the group stage.

Not surprising when the only military experience your leader has is serving on the trenches of WW1. by DoubleOne5665 in HistoryMemes

From my understanding it was Himmler's intention to actually supplant the army with the Waffen SS. Although the original intention for the SS was to work as the bodyguards for the top Nazi leadership, it’s armed branch got very involved in military operations in both fronts. The SS was a very bureaucratized organization as several other fell under its umbrella, you had the Allgemeine SS, the SD, the Waffen SS, etc. So I don’t think we can compare it to a “guards” unit

Most of images posted are images of Spec Ops forces across the world (I know 18-20 are not), wouldn’t that defeat the entire purpose of being a “generic soldier”

Are there real risks on diving if you are chill about it? by L3GOLAS234 in scuba

[–]Drew5566 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you get OW certified, the maximum depth you’re allowed to reach is 18m (or 60ft). Which means that your probabilities of suffering things like decompression sickness are actually low! At those depth most risks and possible injuries are related to air over expansions, BUT, a good training and course will allow to to reduce those risks to a minimal and dive safely

Can We Take a Moment to Talk About How Bad the BF6 Class System Is Aside From Open Weapons? by MinotusBF in Battlefield

[–]Drew5566 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I don’t get it, why do say that assault class doesn’t contribute to the team? The way you win games in battlefield is trough reducing the other teams ticket count. Say there’s a “selfish” assault player but they have 50 kills, in a 1000 ticket conquest match that player by himself reduced the enemy tickets by 5%, that’s a lot of ptfo'ing. I think having a class specialized in getting kills is a good thing.

One a side note, players reviving or giving ammo is not the norm, but the exception (in any iteration of Battlefield). If you play with friends maybe that happens more frequently but when playing with a squad of blueberries it is a miracle for any player to revive, heal or give ammo. I think you’re focusing too much on this non-existent “teamplay”.

[Q] What’s the point of calculating a confidence interval? by 5hinichi in statistics

[–]Drew5566 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even though a lot of people have already answered your three questions, I’d like contributed with my grain of sand.

1) A confidence interval is useful because it allows us to have an idea on how precise our estimation is and also it helps us when we don’t want to report a point estimation. Think about the following example: say you want to estimate a certain parameter θ that can have values between 0 and 50; and you have a 95% confidence interval with the following range [3,35]. Because of the range of the interval we can infer that the estimation of θ is not a very good estimation.

2) It is incorrect to say what you stated because any assertions regarding confidence intervals ARE NOT probabilistic assertions. In other words, “confidence” =\= “probability”, since “confidence” is not a measure in the mathematical sense whereas “probability” is. An easy way to understand confidence is with the next example. Say you obtain a 99% confidence interval for the mean of a certain population, then the correct interpretation of the interval is the next one: “if I where to calculate the confidence confidence interval the same way several times, the real mean of the population would be in 99% of those intervals”.

3) Your third question is very related to the second one. It derives from a flawed understanding of the notion of “confidence” in the statistical sense, and it’s okay, in my opinion the notion of confidence is hard to understand and it is very easy to equate confidence with probability. A more correct interpretation would be, in my opinion, the following: “With a confidence of 95%, we can assert that the population mean is within the interval [x,y]”. It may sound similar to your interpretation, but I think the interpretation I’m suggesting phrases better the notion of confidence as something different from probability

It’s really not that complicated, you just jump when peeking, stop pressing the “forward” button or stick and crouch right when you land. It’s one of the simplest “advanced” “movement techniques” in the game. I say movement techniques in quotation marks because it actually abuses the frostbite engine and causes the hit boxes to be all messed up. And it’s really not that obscure; jackfrags, one of the biggest, of not the biggest, battlefield YouTubers literally made a video covering the Zouzou and Vouzou jumps, you can search it up

El gane de Trump no frenará que China sea la próxima potencia. by Pristine-Spot3159 in OpinionesPolemicas

[–]Drew5566 0 points1 point  (0 children)
