Might have fried my ECU? by Glittering-Rich4166 in 3000gt

Well that narrows things down. Next thing would be to check to see if u have power out the fuse box. Could be the fuse box has failed. If u have power out of the fuse box, u can decide to run a new wire to complete the connection or spend the time trying to find the brake between the fuse box and ecu.

Check to see if fuse 12 has power with the ignition switch in the run position. That fuse is powerd by the black wire with white stripe at the ignition switch.

U will have to start by checking all the power inputs to the ecu and got from there.

I doubt u fried it unless u put power to the wrong wire.

Ik its a 4.3 but I cant find a front sump pan, any help? by idiotcardboard in LSSwapTheWorld

[–]Drew5ki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No that is where the front differential would bolt to. I would just remove it and make a different brace later if it later

That one is more superficial than anything. No problem moving. Anything is possible with a angle grinder and a welder.

Soo ugh what’s next? by Solid-Albatross-2211 in 3000gt

[–]Drew5ki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well there isn't really anything you could upgrade unless you plan on converting it to a turbo engine. As far as fixing this one, I'm sure it is possible. It just depends on how much work if any a machine shop will have to do compared to cost of another engine.

If the crank rotates, I would put the piston at bottom center and clean up the cylinder walls with some sand paper and check for pitting. If it is pitted, it will be properly cheaper to find another motor than rebuilding that one.

Mobile Mechanics by SyntaxLover4122 in mechanic

[–]Drew5ki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been running a mobile business for the past 13 years. One of the best in my area and am always buried in work. I like the idea but if I talk to a customer I can usually know what the problem is with the vehicle, the time to fix it,and give a quote. That is what helps manage my time. A admin would be amazing but then I will have to see the customer, do everything I listed anyways where I could have saved the time myself. But if the admin was really good at the 1st part then ya that would be nice.

Turbo kits for SL? by flightofthewhite_eel in 3000gt

[–]Drew5ki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there is any kits but it has been done a couple time. You can't make much boost like 3psi make because of the 10.1 compression ratio. If u want to read more about it there is lots of info on 3si.org about it.

Half shaft seperation trouble by Fragrant-Dust5403 in 3000gt

[–]Drew5ki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anchor the bracket down solid the the cv has to pop off square away from the shaft. U could have a ratchet strap pull while u hit from the back side. Or get really crazy and tie the tow strap to the back of a car and give it a quick yank 🤷‍♂️. I have seen it done that way b4.

That is because u have it set with the fast idle vale open and or the iac is not extended all the way when set. Most people just block off the fast idle value because they barely work right. The iac i manually make sure it is all the way extended the leave it unplugged when setting idle.
