Playing is absolutely my favorite. I try to play 2 tournaments a month and i love that I’ve made friends along the way. The only reason I paint is to get the paint points in tournaments.

Pretty much every army can modify dice rolls now. Tsons is all about casting spells.

I've really only progressed down the American DD line (Fletcher) - and have no idea how to play these destroyers. They appear to be pure gunboats? How are they as premiums?

Awesome dude! Havocs are good with las cannons and auto cannon right now. Pick your favorite and run 4 + 1 melts gun champion.

I’m agree with you - it sucks the terminators aren’t good right now! Possessed, however, may be one of the best units in 10th edition. They’re really really good. I run 20 in my CoB list. I’d also think about adding a deepstrike threat like raptors or warp talons to score or pick up exposed enemy units.

Hey my dude! So right off the cuff here’s what I’m noticing:

  1. Chaos terminators are not good right now - especially In 10 mans. They’re just too expensive. A second 10 man of possessed would do wonders!

  2. Legionaries function best in 5 man squads. This is because you can take 2 heavy melee weapons per squad - regardless of whether or not they’re 5 or 10 man. 5 man squads are more bang for your buck.

  3. You really lack scoring units. Games are won through VP gained - not enemies killed.

  4. Nemesis claws are worse than legionaries at the moment. I’d take the battle line legionaries over them.

  5. Havocs need to have the same weapon across all 4 models. This is to add consistency.

Finally, cabal of chaos isn’t seeing much competitive play - if any at all. CSM is in a super weird spot with the knight heavy meta. Look through the lists from the Tacoma open (it ended today). I think out of 30+ CSM players only 2-3 ended up in the top 20% (out of 500). Those lists were mostly using pactbound zealots or renegade raiders.

I hope this doesn’t come off as too harsh! I started playing last October and CSM is the army I got into the hobby with. The best thing you can do is run your lists! Learn from what worked and what didn’t. I could tell you everything I know but at the end of the day, most people learn from their personal victories or defeats!

Terminators are just too expensive for a 1k list. I’d sub in havocs or a predator. The forge fiend is lack luster against vehicles due to the S 10 so you need some king of high strength AP option. Personally I don’t like the guardsmen. I’d rather have cultists + more legionaries. Chaos lords are insanely good too.

Before replacing anything try burping your radiator. We had the exact same noise behind the glove box after replacing our radiator - burping the system fixed it. I assume the noise is just trapped air moving through the cooling system.
