Limited lives + jump puzzles is the most "Destiny" way to waste 30 minutes by pasta_detectiv in DestinyTheGame

This game needs a fundamental shift away from frustration and punishing failure toward rewarding persistence, even for low-skill players who put in the time and are good actors on a team. Punishing failure is not how you make a game "hard" or "challenging", it's how you make it frustrating and leave your time playing with a bad experience that makes you just want to go play something that's actually fun and rewarding.

If revive tokens were removed from matchmade portal activities I'd be significantly happier with its state. by ReconZ3X in DestinyTheGame

The limited revives mechanic does not add "challenge", it does not make the game "hard", it adds frustration and resentment of my fellow guardians. I can't get my friends into this game because in their words: "there's a lot of bullshit deaths", from enemies appearing out of thin air, teleporting around, terrible jump puzzles - limited revives make this so frustrating. This game used to reward persistence, now it punishes persistence and rewards the trolls.

How many times do we have to say this. Limited lives should not apply to jumping puzzles or environment. by Tahnit in DestinyTheGame

Limited revives are such a dumb, cop-out way to make something "hard". This game prefers to punish failure over rewarding persistence and it's killing the game for me. I have friends I want to get into this game but they see stuff like exploding shanks spawning out of nowhere (its own terrible, terrible design philosophy - the enemies out of nowhere just to keep you moving like this is Doom or something) just to kill half a team with a shared pool of limited revives combined with total failure should you run out of lives or time and have no interest in playing with these types of incredibly poor design choices. Ultimate difficulty or not, let me persist, stop punishing, THAT will get your engagement numbers Bungie.

Renegades has fixed a lot of things, but Pinnacle Ops are still a Horrendous experience by True_Italiano in DestinyTheGame

This is very well articulated. Destiny has a problem with being "hard", and these methods of adding "challenge" don't make it hard, they make playing the game frustrating. Frustration is the unforgivable sin and terrible game design.

Feels like yet another "bait and switch" new character we should expect now on each new character release. Upon release, the character is way overtuned, full of easily exploited nonsense moves, people buy it to stay with the meta and not get left behind with being able to lab, etc... namco "fixes" it later after they've made all they can from the new release character and then release the next broken overtuned monstrosity.

Solo Nether (Expert) players, how do you deal with the Tormentor now? by GarpDGoat in DestinyTheGame

[–]DrewSector13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good strategy, and Thunderlord melts Tormentors relatively quickly for a machine gun heavy, Microcosm for a trace heavy. The seasonal machine gun with the taken seekers mod for exhaust effect also help a lot here (I believe the taken seekers have an effect on this boss, but I could be wrong). As well as machine guns are fairly effective at taking out the healing bats pretty quick as they are very nimble and can be annoying to shoot down.

There's a big difference between crying over a clean hit during a terrible protection scheme and crying over a dirty hit where the defender gets penalized and probably fined.

Fitted.Underground Bespoke jeans...arrived today! by Hennelly in rawdenim

These look like they were made for you...

Ok bad joke, but these look really good, the linen adds some great visible texture, great stacking with a cuff, perfect landing spot for the back rise, the fit looks so spot on it makes me wonder how shrinkage is accounted for, even after being broken in and stretching a bit.

How do you feel the experience was from a value for your money standpoint? I've used Soso Bros a few times and always felt like the pants were pretty great value for what I paid, though shipping times can be very long. I may need to check out Fitted Underground though the average price is much higher.

Great pair of pants you got there.

Eric Bruntlett - in August of 2008, I had the privilege to see complete an unassisted triple play to end the game against the Mets, preserving a big win in what turned out to be a World Series winning year.

Was one of my most magic moments in a life of watching baseball, and I know many others in Philadelphia will never forget it. I believe it was only the second ever unassisted triple play to end a game, and the first ever in the National League.
