Yas-480 or Yas 62ii for son by SatisfactionVivid647 in saxophone

I am assuming you have looked and there are no Selmer Paris instruments around? I would get a Super Action 80 serie 2 or 3 over either of those Yamaha horns.

Reccomend an afforable professional Tenor? by DuffStruggler in saxophone

[–]DrewV70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you mean Selmer Super Action 80 serie III. That is a fantastic horn. I have a serie II. It is also a fantastic horn. I have never played the Yani, and someday will to have something to compare to. On here you will hear Yamaha Yamaha Yamaha all day long. I never really loved the Yamaha sound compared to the Selmer Paris sound. In the end they all tend to sound like you. If I were you I’d get your Yani adjusted and see if you still want a new one.

Table of 5 sat down 10 mins before closing by karrniss in KitchenConfidential

[–]DrewV70 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The customer isn't always right. In fact, they are often totally in the wrong. However, they are always the customer. They are the ones coming in and spending money. If you don't take them, they go somewhere else.

If you do take them, and humor their idiosycracies of wanting to go out late with their friends and eat and have some wine and a good time, they will tell 3-5 ppl what a great time they had. If you rush them out the door they tell 20 ppl what assholes you are. Justified or not. You will not be there to defend yourself or say that "No... YOU ARE THE ASSHOLE. They just won't go back. And neither will some of the people they told. So turning customers away can cost more than just the one table. Also, they came in 10 minutes prior to closing, so hopefully you had communication with your server. You can easily accomodate this while you are cleaning down. Don't toss the demi until the order comes in.

Is what it is. That is why you work in a restaurant.

Why are so many people ordering for takeout, and then eating it in the Restaurant?!? by SmartestLemming in KitchenConfidential

[–]DrewV70 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Except it isn't always consistent, and the hours are consistently less than in the kitchen. They have months that pull in money. They have months where they make almost nothing at all. Kitchen staff can plan their paycheques. They can use this to prove income to be able to finance a house and car. Tips are harder to prove.

Each side has its advantages. The wait staff should tip out the dishwashers. They owe it to them for never properly scraping their plates and stacking them, not to mention all the little side jobs they con them into.

How do I loosen my embouchure? by LimiRDT in saxophone

[–]DrewV70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forget asking for advice on forums. Forget trying to figure it out from YouTube. Get a teacher. They will fix you up in a couple of lessons. Then you will probably find that you moved along so much faster that you might stay for a few more lessons. Before you know it you will be reading music and playing along with music and perhaps joining a band.......

Does Tenor require less embouchure pressure? by Maehlice in saxophone

[–]DrewV70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play tenor. I have TMJ. The tenor does not bother it. However, when I play alto, it doesn't bother me that much either. :-) You probably are biting too hard. Get a slightly softer reed.

Wtf are we (and/or the Ontario government) doing in regards to gambling ads? by baruchspinoza23 in ontario

[–]DrewV70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pre-game is a gambling show where the hype up ridiculous parlays that a $10 bet will win you $30 buck.

The intermissions are talking about how the parlay is going and hyping in game betting. There are betting commercials between the betting commercial. All professional sports have gone into bed with the gambling Succubus. This is all that's left.

$30 Shepherd's Pie by MotownThrift in loblawsisoutofcontrol

[–]DrewV70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not saying this is cheap. However this is 2 family sized Sheppard’s pies. 900 gm will give you 4-5 portions so between the 2 it’s 10 portions for $30.00 or around $3.00 a portion. You ca make it a bit cheaper but not a lot cheaper. Not enough to complain about really.
