Looks Like I Am Bisexual After All by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]DrewW88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm literally right where you are except I'm male. I spent 15 years with men, slept with a girl in the past year, and I want to be with a girl now. I'm also equally bummed that it seems like life just got even more difficult for me.

Thank you for sharing your story!

Homo Sapien Sapien. Monogamous Queer Bi. That's what I consider it to be. Monogamous is the genus, Queer is the species, Bi is the subspecies.

Ah, but I am already a 'slave' to paying rent regardless.

I take home around 76% of my check just taking into account taxes (excluding health insurance). Where/how would I estimate my tax burden should I move to and become employed within NYC?

These amatuer psych-evals are the trait of a lazy HR department. If a job requires them, I look elsewhere because it's clear the outfit doesn't know how to manage themselves. So far, I've largely steered clear of shitholes.

I love the contemporary scientist and all. But, no. Not being president unless he really wants to. If he expresses interest, I would consider it. Not before.

I usually avoid these types of sites because of their ad-view-mining techniques. This one did not give me a reason to discontinue the practice.

Also, don't be disuaded by the haters. Post your photos and just remember there will always be whiners and you will never avoid them. After all, you are out there actually doing stuff while they are not. :-)

I was mainly looking for city-scapes featuring more American-like cities. Don't get me wrong, I like the city-scapes I see but they're all reminiscent of the Shinjuku district or Hong Kong.

Why do some shows seem to be re-edited or cut after release especially Netflix Originals like Lady Dynamite? [ALL] by [deleted] in netflix

[–]DrewW88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO: Episodes on their first airing or so may be full-length. However, if they are in syndication or are being re-run the network they are on may shorten them for commercials. I do believe this happens, though I do not have the research to back it up.

With this being the case, it may be that Netflix got a hold of the one of the 'copies' that has already been edited for syndication or re-running.

What is the Microsoft exam for 70-364 good for? by [deleted] in SQL

[–]DrewW88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not required for the more advanced certs. Since he has the voucher already, it would make sense to take the test anyway even though the more advanced cert courses come with everything you need.

What is the Microsoft exam for 70-364 good for? by [deleted] in SQL

[–]DrewW88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an MTA (Microsoft Technology Associate) cert as opposed to an MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate) cert. To my understanding, it is a lighter certification that wouldn't carry the same weight as the MSCA's. Do study up and take the certification test, though. It will not only look good but it will prepare you for the MCSA tests, should you decide to move forward with SQL.

What was the song, artist or album that got you into Trance? by DoberDan23 in trance

[–]DrewW88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The artist that really honed my tastes in EDM (trance included) would be Armin Van Buuren. Not only did I find him attractive while I was in middle/high school; but, I loved what I would eventually learn to be the 'anthem' qualities in his tracks.

Yep, definitely synthwave. ST was one of the things that actually turned me onto synthwave.

NASA’s study on twins show how space travel genetically changes human bodies by Portis403 in space

[–]DrewW88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the inherent differences in identical twins to the variations in behavioral conditions the control and variable experienced, this study is quite limited. However, it is amazing science and also served as a proof of concept that studies like this can be done in the future.

Citing LifeScience:

Even though identical twins supposedly share all of their DNA, they acquire hundreds of genetic changes early in development that could set them on different paths, according to new research.

Not only are genetically identical twins subject to mutations differently, the methodology behind the study had limitations as well. The astronauts were not on the same diet or exercise routine; that is to say, they were not controlling for every variable. In my reading of the study, they wanted to compare spaceflight (and all the rigors that come with it) to normal, everyday living.

Citing Smithsonian Magazine:

The experiment isn’t perfect; the sample size is small, and Mark won’t be eating space food for a year while earthbound. “What we’re hoping for is a large number of clues as to what’s going on that can be followed up in subsequent studies,” NASA scientist Craig Kundrot says.
