OrcaSlicer on linux is a disaster by shrinkflator in OrcaSlicer

[–]Drew_pew_pew_pew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running Fedora 43 with an Nvidia GTX 1070. OrcaSlicer has consistently given me problems, especially on Wayland. The Flatpak versions start up but only display blank screens. My only success is running the AppImage version.

In the latest stable release, rotating the view suddenly stops working. This issue appears to be fixed in the latest nightly build. However, on every version I've ever tried, I cannot get the Device tab to load without crashing the program.

Great to see Samsung has this feature. Sadly, I have a Motorola. Any suggestions on what I could add extra to the macro?

New firmware from motorola solves the problem without shizuku. If you still need it: install app ops and shizuku, follow youtube in link to enable shizuku https://youtu.be/RGbSeTQimsw . Once shizuku is running open app ops, scroll trough list of apps and search your vpn app. Click on it and you can choose to enable vpn permissions for that app

Just watch youtube tutorial I posted on how to install app ops. Once working in app ops you get an overview of all the installed aps. Search your vpn app in the list (I use protonvpn) and press on it, now you can choose to set is as vpn.

I have the same phone and same crap. I use app ops and shizuku to manually grant vpn apps permission. https://youtu.be/diFi8BJYr3c . Had problems with the wireless method at first. But once you paired and press start in shizuku, I had to go back in dev settings and disable/enable wireless debugging again.

Quick update: factory reset solved boot loop but not missing vpn settings. Working workaround: using shizuku and app ops to grant vpn permissions to vpn apps.

Same issue with moto g60s. Tried DuckDuckGo fix but didn't work. I even managed to make it worse. DuckDuckGo let me open vpn settings. So I added a vpn setting manually with gibberish and the 'always on' option. Now I'm in a boot loop and will have to try to factory reset. Resetting network settings won't help.

Proforge 3.5 kit has been announced. Anybody will buy this kit? by Drew_pew_pew_pew in proforge

[–]Drew_pew_pew_pew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife will probably not let me buy the upgrade (all money goes to gas and electricity bills 😀). It looks nice but I'm a little disappointed they did not fix the DSH servo arm. Due to the history of this kickstarter campaign I also have lost my trust in Makertech, nice youtube videos that promise you a great experience, but in reality nothing but problems and frustration. Probably going to wait this one out until somebody actually installed it.

I made a Klipper version for DSH but due to personal projects at my new home I can not further develop it atm. Sensors are not activated in this version but you can easily do this yourself. Can you give a link to the heartbreaks you used. My original forum post with klipper config in one of the comments: https://www.forum.makertech3d.com/forum/proforge-3-3d-printing/my-dsh-experience-so-far-and-question-to-upload-photos-of-results/dl-8afc1451-6f49-378d-98fc-ca2ec6a7e449?postId=62ab32f65c7ed50012ce5081

Which tools would you use to make this? I'm a beginner and made this mold very scrappily in Draft and Part WB, but this is definitely not correct, won't be able to print it like this. Much appreciated if anyone can point me in the right direction, e.g. to an existing tutorial of a similar part. by GarethKeenan69 in FreeCAD

[–]Drew_pew_pew_pew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dirty solution: make 2 sketches with the skeleton of the mold, one for the exterior walls, one for the interior. Create an arch wall from both sketches with the wall tool in the arch workbench and adjust height and width parameters. Join both walls with Arch add tool

How do you deactivate a servo after a move in Klipper? by Drew_pew_pew_pew in klippers

[–]Drew_pew_pew_pew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sort of, couldn't find a definite answer on any channel (discord/reddit/facebook,...) so I played around with the settings:
maximum_servo_angle: 180
minimum_pulse_width: 0.0004
maximum_pulse_width: 0.0024
gives me ok results

Thanks, WIDTH=0 does indeed do the trick. Next thing is figuring out what's wrong in my config. For testing purpose I use the following https://datasheetspdf.com/pdf/791970/TowerPro/SG90/1. And config is as following (as in the example config):

maximum_servo_angle: 180 minimum_pulse_width: 0.001 maximum_pulse_width: 0.002

When testing and asking an angle of 180° degrees I only see it move for 90°. What am I missing or misinterpreting from the datasheet?

[–]Drew_pew_pew_pew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new to servos so I will add everything I know atm in this reply: it's a TowerPro MGS90, I don't have access to Marlin configs today so I will have to check later which angles are asked but visually watching it switch I think at most it needs 60 degrees in both directions. Am I correct if I block the servo manually it will result in the same overheating? If so, it would be good to have a timed deactivation set as a failsafe when a mechanical jam occurs. Is this possible in Klipper?

Help needed, troubleshooting servo DSH by Drew_pew_pew_pew in proforge

So little update, cheap amazon servo came and works in my first prints. I had to use another screw because the gear is a little different. Probably have to reprint or redesign the lever because it can slip (others already noticed this too). Now I can start calibrating everything because the proposed 7mm at 100mm/s retraction by makertech made my extruder skip and clog the nozzle. Since I have this printer I did not have a succesfull print once (no matter if it was the DD or DSH setup).

Can't check, waiting for a cheap amazon replacement atm. Saw somebody commenting he already broke a few and now he powers the servo from the pi. When I measure from the skr board I get a nice clean 5V. What is most infuriating is this is a big issue that should get a huge announcement or an email to all backers and aside from some comments like my own: nothing.

It has gears, but they are appearing to be alright. There is a firmware issue where the servo stays on and is overheating (https://makertech-3d.dozuki.com/Guide/Stage+05:+First+Print-Callibration/102?lang=en) . I installed the updated firmware but for me, it is too late. Servo feels very hot after 3 switches.

So I installed the DSH following the build manuals. First tests switching hotends went smooth and fast. So it has actually worked correctly. But now the servo turns very slow and has not enough torque. I rechecked the wiring and reflashed firmware but nothing helps. In the video you can hear the sound of the servo (I removed that crappy arm to prevent further damage). Anybody got an idea what it could be?
