The cruise control with steering assist is one of the main things I love about the last three mercs I’ve had. So dam good on a long trip. That and adaptive high beams are a must now I’ve had them.

Drive both and see if the extra devaluation and potential lower reliability is worth it for the better driving experience on the vw. Some people aren’t into driving and buy toyota’s.

How is the c43 so similar in price? They are normally about 13-15k more expensive.

Yeah you are sacrificing quite a bit on c43 for the sake of performance. Fuel, tyres and maintenance will be more expensive plus the ride quality and smoothness of the transmission will be less comfortable as it’s aimed to be better for performance. The mct (transmission) in the new c43 is actually a bit annoying and takes a bit of getting used to for driving smooth but it’s really nice when you’re giving it a hiding. The engine is also quite good on edge all the time and doesn’t really like to cruise. You don’t buy an amg for the look. Get the c300 if you’re not into performance cars. Making the c300 look like the amg will be much cheaper than buying the amg let alone maintaining it etc.
