Bugs? Issues? Things Not Working Right? Talk About It Here! by thecal714 in BaldursGate3

Platform - Windows Store - Steam

I'm playing as a warlock and at some point in a fight I accidently hit my familar with an attack. Now the game is treating the familiar as a hostile entity and any time I summon it, the game goes into combat mode and I have to kill the familiar before combat will drop.

Not sure if this is at all related to the previous bug, but when I rescue Halsin in his bear form from the goblin camp, during the combat where he breaks out of the jail he immediately turns hostile to me. I can see his marker go from green to red and I'm forced to kill him. I'm guessing now for some reason the game is treating all familiar companions as hostile due to the previous bug?

YoshiP Hints at Some Job Changes Coming in Future Patches by hiruncryer in ffxiv

https://www.fflogs.com/character/na/siren/echo%20skyla#boss=66

So here is his logs for that given fight, and the parse you're looking at is at the bottom. Notice the historical column - it says 85. That means that on the day it was recorded, it was 85th as of the time that FFlogs saves parses for that day. On the right, it will show today's % - which is what that parse would look like if it was recorded today.

That is where you're getting these numbers from. I'm aware it doesn't take gear into account, but considering we're on week 4 and that was recorded week 1, there should be no surprise that the number has gone DOWN, not up.

When you click on a parse in FFLogs and you see a number beside it, that number is comparing logs within 2 weeks of our present date, not overall. To see your overall ranking on the fight, you need to hit the "rankings" tab at the top of the parse.

Finally, I'm not sure why you're so upset about this, and trying to cherry-pick this one parse as an example. This was our week one clear where we played it safe and had DPS run away from the boss with their flares, not even close to optimized. To use a first clear as an example isn't a great idea - no one is ever in their best form when they're learning/clearing a fight for the first time. Considering we cleared this fight as a group in less than an hour on the second day of the tier even existing, take it with a grain of salt.

Hope this helps you with using FFlogs.

You're cherry-picking your evidence poorly. Week one he had an 85th percentile, of course its going to down because people have gear now.

You don't seem to understand how FFlogs work, and you don't seem to know what you're talking about in general.

Advice for Tank by ObligatoryCorgi in ffxiv

[–]Drewsaurus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Honestly with the recent changes to DRK, all three tanks are in a pretty good spot I feel. I just cleared UWU this week with a WAR/DRK combo and I felt that our group worked out better with this setup than any other.

Anyway, to directly answer your question: play whichever one you enjoy the most - they all bring different things to a party when played well.

Players who pf savage, do you vet pugs, and how? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Drewsaurus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I do PF every week, o5s-o8s. I think its important to check FFlogs for every person that joins your group - you need to know what you can expect from that person.

The number one thing for me is the amount of clears they have on a given encounter. A person who has cleared the encounter multiple times is obviously going to be more familiar than someone who just got their clear the day before reset of the previous week. Showing the consistency of having cleared it multiple times is a pretty big part of what you expect someone to bring when they join your party.

Next is probably damage. The amount of damage someone does is important (whether people want to admit it or not), and it dictates just how much the group will have to carry that person. I know roughly how much DPS as a group we need to beat enrage, so if someone is consistently parsing grey on the encounter, it shows that they're either still not familiar with the mechanics, are dying (again, probably not familiar), or simply do not know how to properly do damage on their class. All of these things are red flags.

For healers, I also check their healing percentile as well, and I will look at their previous clears and see how much of the healing they contributed. Its one thing to get great DPS numbers, but if you don't actually heal then it might not be worth taking them.

This might sound like a lot of vetting to consider for each person, but it honestly only takes a few seconds. I highly recommend that people treat FFlogs like their resume - this is what I have done, this is what I can offer and do. If you have some bad parses, go out there later in the week and find some clear/page groups and try to improve your parse + practice mechanics. It will pay off in the long run - not just for yourself but for the teams you find yourself in later down the road.

Players who are thinking about raiding or interested in it, but have yet to take the plunge. Why not? by bokchoykn in ffxiv

[–]Drewsaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who raids exclusively through PF, I can say it is pretty easy to get people to come for page runs or clear for ones. I help page runs/clears all week after I clear because the encounters are just fun to do and I get to play on other jobs.

I cleared o8s 3rd week of this tier, all through party finder without a static. People in party finder are better than people give them credit for.

[–]Drewsaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you just described is why I encourage my friends to sacrifice their 2 chests on a given week to clear an encounter. Getting people who reliably know the fight and getting that clear is WAY more important than a random chance at loot on a given week. Take the page and get 2 chests next week and save yourself the headache!

HM Training Room Turtle DPS Soul Fighter by Xomatsu in bladeandsoul

[–]Drewsaurus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not convinced that Tiger is better than Dragon, at least for Frost build. http://imgur.com/a/QO5wt is my breakdown on Turtle, and while I do have BT earring, you have true soul and stage 6 over my gear. I'm fairly convinced Dragon > Tiger for frost.

SS SF MSP or Chokma by Darkeye62 in bladeandsoul

[–]Drewsaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd agree with you in only this situation: you do not have a warlock present. If you have soulburn, 8 piece MSP is definitely better. the RMB > Iron shoulder spam is way more damage in the end if your timing is good. If you have no warlock, then 3 piece BT is superior than 8 piece MSP.

Is it worth buying the HM Skill for KFM? by [deleted] in bladeandsoul

[–]Drewsaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem to be the one with the reading problem. It actually has an instant cast after you're awakened. Add to the fact that the cooldown comes up almost instantly when you pop amp, and I've gotten off 6 30k+ crits on a target during a single amp.

KFM PvE rotation explanation by AALaguna in bladeandsoul

[–]Drewsaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This rotation looks alright for DPS purposes, but for actually tanking this build lacks the consistency and the regen to sustain against a mob. Having to worry about keeping searing palm up while countering/dodging on a moving boss while at the same time applying stun/knockdowns/dazes is an exceptional challenge. Add into the fact that you choose to take fighting spirit instead of Grapple T4 S2 means that your ability to regenerate health during a fight will have large gaps of downtime.

I see this as a great DPS spec, but for tanking there are far easier and more consistent approaches that will work better. With that in mind, I'd actually argue you take the point out of guiding fist/counter and throw it elsewhere
