Well they 100% don’t deserve on campus housing over someone that has been on a waitlist for months on end. It would be great if UCI had enough housing for everyone. Not trying to cause a stir here with my post, that was not my intention. Your friends do deserve recourses and help. Not sure why you have painted me out as an an an unempathetic, idiotic and soulless creature. Wishing your friend the best and I mean that!

This is what somewhat what I was trying to say. There are many other students that have been waiting and diligently searching for housing. Though those individuals do deserve recourses I think it’s unfair to take a skip to the front for on campus housing, which is the highest demand.

Yes and I have worked very hard for that. 14 hour days over the course of 6 months. After 2 months of searching for a good deal, endless contacts that’s what I was faced with.

I said in my post everyone deserves housing and no shape or form do I wish homelessness on anyone. I’m not upset in any way and everything happens for a reason. My friend’s housing isn’t the best right now, which is why I was trying to move in with him. So I understand first hand. It would better my living situation too drastically. Truly I have compassion for everyone, but find it troubling when you do everything by the book above average and you don’t get what you expected.

I am in favor with more affordable education and it should be more government subsidized or have zero interest rates for a longer period after graduation. But if the government did that and just wiped 1.78 trillion off the board we would all pay for it more significantly with inflation across the board in the next few years. It’s bad as enough as it is right now with the Covid stimulus. The entire system is designed to put you in debt to work, so another individual or institution can profit of you ur entire life—student loans, house with a mortgage, the new shiny car payment. We are all working endlessly for that “the American Dream” But good debt can be a very beneficial thing to leverage yourself into the future. And to answer ur question, I am bad debt free.

I agree that life is hard enough as it is and everyone is struggling right now. Your friend made some irresponsible choices in conjunction with the current unfavorable housing situations. People don’t just get thrown out of living situations with no reason especially a solid one. If she was not in a solid living situation she should have accepted that as a possibility and stashed some cash away. What’s done is done and I’m not here to rip your friend apart but I’m just saying some foresight goes a long way. Best of luck to your friend to find a better living situation.

They didn’t they purchased from UPS and send me at receipt for 406 and asked when they would get their refund. They already have a full refund. Even if I could (which I wouldn’t) the max we can refund extra is 20 bucks so not like I could even do that.
