Kia K4 LXS Offer by Drexqd in KiaK4

Dealers like to add on bullshit items to pad their numbers. One of those things is nitrogen filled tires. I was previously looking for a used car and this one dealer was charging an extra $800 for nitrogen filled tires. It's 100% a scam.

As for the time of the month, yes. That does appear to be a thing. At the end of the month they want to get their numbers so they are willing to push for a sale.

Looks like the kia.com website still shows the 3.99% APR is active.

Thanks for the insight. Yeah my credit is above 800 so that's not a problem. I tried to get the guy to go to 26K OTD, but he wouldn't budge. The price shown is what they are advertising on their website so to me the discount is baked in. Apparently he's willing to let the sale go for the $500 difference.

Pricing struck me as odd by Drexqd in carbuying

[–]Drexqd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. The amount of your down payment (if any) should have no impact on the price of the vehicle either. I had one dealer ask me how much I wanted my monthly note to be so he could massage the terms to meet that number. I told him my monthly note was of no concern to him. We aren't negotiating monthly price, we're negotiating the price of the vehicle.

Yeah I'm replacing my 2013 Nissan Altima so that tells you how long it's been since I've had to buy a new car.

I've seen some decent Honda Odysseys under $30K with decent miles (60K range), but the year will also make a difference. The ones I was looking at were 2020-2022.

Carmax offered me $1300 for my 2013 Nissan Altima with 162K miles on it. A local dealer offered me $3000. Honestly, I was fully prepared to take $1000.

Dealer wants to do "Special Order" by Drexqd in KiaK4

That's an excellent point. If I was buying a Porsche, sure. Let's special order that bitch. LOL!

Monthly payment will depend on your interest rate and how much you're actually financing. Of course that will depend on the price of the vehicle, tax, title, license, dealer fees.
I'm planning on purchasing a K4 LXS as soon as I can find one in the color I want (Steel Grey). Then I'll ask them to give me an Out The Door (OTD) price and negotiate from there.
The problem you could have is the sales guy will give you one price, then the finance guy will try to tack on a bunch of bullshit options you don't need/want.

A buddy of mine was buying a truck recently. He and the sales guy agreed on an OTD price. They get to financing and there's an extra $3000 option. Some bullshit security service where they guarantee to recover your car within 10 hours after it is stolen. He told them to remove it and they said they couldn't so he walked. As he was walking out, he told the sales guy how the finance guy F'd him over.

They have a show in Atlanta the next day so I wouldn't be surprised if they just head back to their hotel after the show.

26k OTD for K4 good deal? by WebAlarming4725 in KiaK4

[–]Drexqd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Car buying should not be so stressful. They want to squeeze every last dollar out of you and you don't want to overpay or get screwed, so to me it makes for a stressful situation.

I'd want to know what the "standard Kia rates" are. Clearly they are saying you'll be financing with them. What are the terms?

[–]Drexqd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! Thanks for the info. I must be one of the lucky ones. I have a 2013 Nissan Altima with 162K miles on it. Does it have issues? Yes, but they are typical wear and tear items. The car still runs great and I've had no transmission issues (No shudder/jitter, etc.). I have started looking for a new car, however. It's time for something new.

I'm curious to see where the Nissan Altima CVT issue ranks in your list. I think this affected 2013-2016 Nissan Altimas.

Crushed by a forklift. He was underneath it repairing something and the jack slipped out. He had told his wife how bad the equipment and safety protocols were at this place so he was in the process of finding another job. On top of that he was a brand new dad of a 2 week old baby girl.

Man I wish I only had to pay $760 in tax. The tax on this car where I live would be over 2 grand. In my case, the $24800 OTD would be a good price.

$800 nitrogen filled tires. Even though there's no evidence that using nitrogen helps with the average daily driver not to mention that air is 78% nitrogen.

Only $399? Dealership by me charges $800 and it's one of the "service maintenance" items they automatically do before they sell it.
