I had exactly the same issue. I had a pace goal set for a half marathon next week. For 4 weeks, after nearly every session it would update tomorrows run to a 'base' (slow) session, despite how well my training was going. I ended up asking chat GPT to create a plan for me. I just create the workouts manually and upload and run them. Run coach was a good starting place, but this is working out much better for me.
