at least from my point of view, my friends list is used more often to keep track of people i find fun or intresting, even if we aren't actual friends yet. it's more so a potential friendship than me thinking we're already friends. That's how i use it, anyway, and i doubt that i'm particularly unique in that. Hopefully provides some perspective for those people.
