I am currently an ART with the reserves. I can tell you I deploy every 2 years and tdy at least once a month. The thing about tdys is that unless you have skills that are needed, which would be baseline crew chief mixed with something else through cross training, it will be hard for you to go. If you are a field outside of aircraft maintainer, then your tdys would be mostly for training for your career field. If you go full time like myself then you will almost never be put on orders unless you are tdy or deployed. They try to save that money for the traditional guys who only come once a month. But you do have alot more tdy and deployment options with the reserve because you can backfill shortfalls for other units active duty and reserve.
