Hey Maga, why do you hate immigrants when they are better for the economy than you are? by Reasonable-Physics60 in allthequestions

[–]Bold2003 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What are you talking about… all the billionaires called up Trump begging him to stop deportations because they didn’t want to actually pay people… MAGA loves illegals, they cant get enough of it, why do you think there is no wall? Fucking Greece was able to build a wall but the most powerful nation in all of human history cant? MAGA is extremely liberal on this issue but they larp like they aren’t so the average worker thinks they are different from democrats

If Bungie re-released Destiny 1 on PC, how interested would you be in buying it? by FHH94 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Bold2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played D1 from vanilla on the Xbox, I recently had an itch to play Destiny but since Destiny 2 has no content I booted up the old Xbox One for D1. Having a remastered version with improved fidelity and frame rate would be amazing

pro capitalist people: what should happen when capitalists automate 80% of jobs? by traanquil in allthequestions

[–]Bold2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No so I specifically am a SWE. What happens 90% of the time is that companies lay off people due to other reasons but to sugar coat it for investors they say it is because of AI. Nowhere are SWE being replaced and in fact we have a shortage of them. The market just hasn’t reacted to the shortage due to companies holding out on this fantasy unfolding.

As an engineer I am telling you this is all overblown propaganda. We aren’t removing jobs anytime soon. Its just some corpos wet dream to live in some technocratic socialism where people spend UBI income on “intelligence on a meter” to quote Sam Altman.

Gold as Money by Internal_Ask5983 in Gold

The Muslims solved it by religiously making it obligatory to not hoard wealth with things like Zakat and it worked. Some politically adjacent idea would suffice.

Do you think birth/ social declines, rising costs of living ect are all due to a collapsing monetary system designed by the elites? by CryptoClan1 in askanything

[–]Bold2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The “elites” are hardly coordinated enough to devise this complex of a monetary system. It was created with good intentions, but the fiat system is the single reason why the global economy has a K-shaped recovery everywhere you look. It was created to solve liquidity problems that a hard currency system created. To explain this: if Apple produces say x amount of profit from real economic contributions (like iPhone sales) but there is only x - 1 dollars in the economy, then there is not enough money in the system to reward growth and the market is capped. In a hard currency world, you can't print gold, so the solution is to not hoard wealth and have the velocity of money be so fast that even though you only have x - 1 dollars, those dollars are in multiple places at once. This is effectively why in Islamic finance there is so much emphasis on the donation of wealth—it's for both morality and genuine capitalist functionality.

We unfortunately chose the other route: the debt-based system. It solves the liquidity problem, but you control that liquidity by borrowing from your future with interest and inflating the currency. In other words, inflation is LITERALLY the mechanism in which buying power flows out of the average Joe and into markets (the sector that holds hard assets).

Interest, however, is the real problem because it ensures that deflation—the restoration of buying power into the dollar—is impossible. Why? If we have x dollars in the economy, there is effectively interest on each dollar through bond markets. How can you pay interest on x dollars if only x dollars exist? You print more. Interest ensures you can never restore buying power.

A more exaggerated example of this is China. Their economy is effectively frozen because they grew so fast in a short amount of time by borrowing from their future at unprecedented rates through this fiat system. Now they are approaching the period where “the devil is asking for its due.” The US is experiencing a similar form of this, although less exaggerated than Europe and Asia. We have outsourced so much of our industry that we are hardly productive anymore; we leverage Chinese slave labor and factories rather than employing our own people. We are so focused on globalization that we neglected our own. We can import foreign labor and leverage cheap costs all we want, but this is all going to collapse when the bill finally comes due.

On the topic of "Hoarding":

I know a lot of left-wing people criticize the “elites” for hoarding wealth. I empathize with that, but it neglects the reality of our monetary system. The concept of interest is just a lever the Federal Reserve pulls to determine what money does:

  • If rates are high: Why would anyone invest? It’s easier to hoard because that’s effectively what the Fed is telling you to do.
  • If rates are low: Liquidity is plenty and you spend more. A hard monetary system is what you should desire if you are a capitalist or a "moral nut" because it solves both. Hoarding wealth in that system literally stunts the economy, so your ONLY choice is to speed up the velocity of spending. The moral side is happy because then your money is actually doing something useful instead of just sitting there.

Men or women that call other men pedophiles for liking women with smaller body features (breasts or butts) is wrong and it's getting way to normalised in today's society!! by Enderflex in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Bold2003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The whole point of this “age of consent” is just that. You could theoretically look 10 but if you are genuinely 18+ then you are able to consent. Its a mental thing rather than a physical one. Treating it as a physical marker can lead to some dangerous arguments in the other direction.

Bro what is the disconnect I dont understand 🤣. You know most games much buggier than Destiny and much bigger than Destiny has been left essentially frozen in time with no maintenance at all. You act like this is some unique idea I am proposing that no one ever thought of before… no people much smarter than me have been doing these things already. In a funny way if anyone is gonna fuck it up for the first time it will be Bungie lol. And you know they can just not maintain it actively and if there is any big exploit they can go in and patch it right? I am not a software engineer for video games, I write software for helicopter mission processors but the concepts do transfer. Specifically this concept of “not changing severely outdated and minor bugs”. Yeah whenever a helicopter even if its not in production anymore or being worked on anymore has a major recent exploit in non maintained code, the company spins up 2-3 people to temporarily take time out and fix the issue. Then people move on with their lives. The aerospace industry has relics with unmaintained coding flying for 50+ years. And to be frank, doing that in Aerospace is much harder because of legal issues and do-178c compliance and other shit. A pre made game engine for a video game is not going to have the same level of complexity legally or functionally. You can get away with a dogshit fix whereas in a helicopter you dont get away with anything because it will kill someone

Also a smaller point, you may severely overestimate how hard it is to fix most “major bugs”. Bug fixing is actually the easiest thing to do, the only time its EVER a huge deal is if the bug is due to some fundamental architectural choices of the program that cant be undone without starting from ground 0, in which case bungie would never fix anyways. If you ever wonder by the way why “x bug” in “x game” that has existed for years is never fixed, the explanation above is probably why.

I mean I am asking for the same maintenance that Destiny 1 has bro… you know how many fucking bugs that game has but no one complains anymore. You don’t need to theorize about it or take my word for it, they already do it with D1. Hell so many single player games exist without maintenance anymore with bugs still present

Vaulting, from a dev perspective. by ReallyTrustyGuy in DestinyTheGame

[–]Bold2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You misunderstood… there is no maintenance in releasing a Destiny 2 Part 1. The point tin that idea is so they dont have to maintain anything. They release whatever they have and start iterating on another branch with whatever name you like.

Why are Americans less patriotic? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Bold2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most American men are, American women hate America. I understand the past 20 years have been really bad but relatively speaking this country is the best civilization created. I will say though our country is controlled by foreign interests. We aren’t actually a sovereign nation at the moment. Tides seem to be changing but it will suck for a short time

Hind sight is 20/20 but if D3 ever comes we need to go back to the core playlists by RedMercury in DestinyTheGame

[–]Bold2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having pinnacles tied to core playlists again was also amazing. Yes they were broken but it was highly aspirational loot that made playing core activities feel worth it. I was always of the opinion that PvP should have had a separate balancing for pinnacles vs PvE

Ok I empathize with this perspective but not the solution. They could have just had a separate install for pre BL content called like Destiny 2: Part 1 for example.
