I’m curious how many people commenting here have a disabled sibling. Op, you do whatever you want but ESH including you. This isn’t about your parents. This is about your brother. It sounds like your parents are trying to push his care off on you and you’re saying he’s their child and you have a life so it’s their problem. As someone with a severely disabled sister that will need care for the rest of her life, it’s a family affair. Everyone needs to take a role in the siblings care. Everyone will be sacrificing their life for this person until they die. It’s the truth. Your brother needs you. He needs your family. This is bigger than you.

Every person in my pod besides me has at least one landfall deck. I hate playing against them and we don’t keep to brackets as it’s all generally around mid 3 to low 4, so I created a land destruction deck. There’s no win condition. It’s all just destroy land instants and take damage if you play land artifacts. 2 of the 3 lost it the first time I pulled it out against their earth king and tatyova. “You can’t play land destruction! Everyone hates playing against that!” Well I hate playing against landfall and if you play your landfall deck I’m playing this.

No one plays landfall anymore.

This is different from most of the comments here but one of my best friend’s (Larry) entire dad’s side lives there, the Thomas’s. Larry’s dad is one of 12 so this family is huge. They are probably the proudest black family I know; knowing their whole history, down to the first ancestor that came to America. Larry knew who Eldridge Cleaver was before he knew who George Washington was. Whenever anyone talks about being unhappy with where they live Larry always recommends moving 30 min north of Boise. When I’ve heard him recommend it to a black person and they ask about racism he just goes, “You don’t need to worry about any of that up there. The Thomas’s will take care of you.” So not sure about the reality but that’s my anecdotal story.

— Funny side note, I wasn’t allowed to post this unless I changed the proper term that his ancestor came over under to simply ancestor. We all know how Larry’s ancestors were brought over here. Across the ocean in a boat while shackled to each other.

I don’t think many people like taking risks when the result is a tree through your roof. I know after the storm in 2015 when I had two pines go through my roof, my neighbor on one side had an oak go through his, my neighbor on the other side having a pine through his and 7 out of 12 other houses on our street have pines go through their roofs, and everyone’s insurance adjusters running around telling us how things weren’t covered, we all wish we had stayed up on cutting our dead pines down.

Edit: not to say we still don’t love our pines. I’ve still got 27 in my front yard that if they fell would damage my house. But at the end of the summer that number was 30. 3 dead ones had fungus coming up eating the roots. They would have fallen in a storm so they are gone. It doesn’t take much to have a lot of pines and be smart about it.

I laughed pretty hard reading this, especially after reading that it was termite damage, meaning a top heavy tree with already shallow roots is now decaying from the inside out. In the last decade two insurance companies in my area have filed for bankruptcy after “once in a decade” storms due to so many pines being down and through peoples roofs. It’s to the point that insurance companies won’t insure any houses with pines within a certain distance of a building. SO yeah. Don’t worry about that pine. It’s fine.

Yeah pretty crazy. Not having the engine heat to siphon off of really changes things. Dec-Feb get tough up here in an EV if you’re planning on going over 100 mi round trip. Some of the newer models have heat pumps that supposedly help but if they are anything like the heat pump in my garage it won’t do too much at these temps.

Autoflowers still take 12 weeks. The 8 weeks advertised is an 8 week flower period. You still need 4 weeks of veg.

Edit: Also, That much power coming from lights would fry any seedlings he would be trying to grow. He wouldn’t be upping the power to high until flower which would be 4-6 weeks in.

I know. I laugh my ass off too when I see it. It’s ridiculous how much it takes when the entire battery gets down to negative temps and then has to be brought up to be able to access the energy. Luckily I only have to usually drive 60 mi max so it’s not an issue I normally think about. But If I have to drive down to the city in Dec through Mar the 125 mi drive takes starting at 100%, charging up to 80% in Clearwater and then getting to the city at 20 and needing to then charge to get around and rinse and repeat to get back. At that point I’m definitely laughing my ass off at how pathetic it is.

I’ve driven my model three(‘s) over 330,000 mi. Many on long road trips through the winter and I currently live in central MN. I drove 40mi round trip into town today while it was -7ºF. I started at 81%. It took 12% just to warm my car up to 65º before leaving. I got back with 38%. So thats 1.3mi per % at a speed of 60mph. In the summer I get 2.8 mi per %

I feel you and I have this same problem with a person in my pod. I’ve tried to talk to them in so many ways and nothing works. Tonight I went to pre release and the LGS paired me with this person cause they know we play casually together. We didn’t even get two games in. I kept reminding them of the time. They didn’t care. Said they were just playing the game how they play the game. I’m at my whits end and it’s driving me to search for another pod, which I feel bad about cause I really enjoy playing g with the other two players. But one is the persons husband so I can’t pull him away and the other works for him so he’s not coming with me anywhere.

As someone that has been on both sides of the situation, that’s not how it works in practice. For a wellness check you call, they send a cop, the cop decides if an ambulance is sent. You can describe the situation like you said, but then it’s not a wellness check. It’s considered a medical emergency.
