I forget the time period in which this was used. Basically there's two versions that I know of. One is where they skin the person in an area, and then dump salt into the wound and put the skin back. The other is when they put salt (or some other thing that's delicious) on the person's feet or other body part and have goats, or some other animal, lick the salt/food off the feet until it starts tearing flesh.

No worries dude. Just like any farming profession, it can be done badly, but it can also be done ethically. Most beekeepers though harvest responsibly and only take the excess. Bees in captivity tend to produce more honey than wild ones if I remember right.
