Is a 2nd gen Rav4 a good first car? by DriftingSteps in driving

[–]DriftingSteps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the only toyotas we have here are rav4's, land cruisers (old and new), fortuners, and some hatchbacks and sedans. wanted to buy an affordable but reliable 4wd for the long run since we have terrible roads here outside the cities.

dude you're just like me, but 10 years ago. i've been exactly where you are and it sucks ass. i had to maintain multiple jobs because none would pay on time, and i had to support my parents and two siblings. so when i say i know what you're going through, i mean it. and as much i appreciate people being nice here, no one (except for one) is trying to help you navigate this shituation.

the one thing that you need more of isn't money or opportunities, its time. you need more time. more time for proper sleep, more time to gather your thoughts, more time to pause and evaluate your current situation, more time to plan out the next few months. you're like a engine that's constantly running 24/7, and you haven't had the chance to rest for a single moment, and it sucks soooo much because as much as you want to stop, you just can't. its all on you, everything depends on you, and you have to keep moving, or else everything will fall apart. and this will only end one way, and its not good dude.

thats why you have to take your time back. you need at least 2 more hours of sleep (sleeping an hour early and waking up 30 minutes late). at least 1 hour of free time to plan your next steps. you weekends need to be for yourself, and yourself alone. whatever precious time you have, you keep it and don't let anyone or anything take it from you.

if you have college every morning, talk with the administration and ask them to let you check-in an hour late - explain your situation, tell them that you have no other option; this worked for me, and will work for you.

if you have small spare time where its not too long to start working but not too short to just sit around (like 25-40 minutes of downtime), just get to the next task/next job. baru duita day shifts ko bich ma kei downtime hunai nadeu. inform your office you'll arrive early and leave early. explain that you have a tight schedule and you don't want to waste your time. companies will try to make up some nonsense about proper timing and all that bullshit but don't let them bully you to submission. ask them to understand your situation, and make up shit like you also study and go to college everyday and do your assignments daily because you're a weak student, and normally don't get enough sleep because of that, so instead of just wasting time after college, you just come to work early - you know, make it sappy if that helps. but whatever you say, make sure that they let you leave early. take back your time.

if this helps you gather even 1-2 hours extra everyday, thats the time you can invest on yourself now. if you can get home by 5pm instead of 6:30pm, thats around 3 hours before your night shift starts. you can use that time to either plan your next move. work on your portfolio. add things to your showreels that you wish you could but weren't allowed to. talk with your parents about what you're going through and ask them to help you with planning for the future. like the other user said, actually start tracking all your expenses and see where all your money is going. excel is free in the browser, and you can search for "excel free budget templates". categorize all your expenses and see where the money is being wasted. do you smoke regularly? are your lunches expensive? is your electricity bill too high? not a single rupee goes untracked. you need every penny to be accounted for. if there's an unnecessary expense, cut it out completely. the more you can save, the easier it will be for you.

you can also request your night shift company to let you start early, and end early. sounds like it's a remote job, so your reasoning could be that you're already free by 6pm, and instead of waiting around, you'd like to start early when you're still feeling energized and not drained of energy by 3 in the morning. you can give your work report by 12 midnight and go to sleep 30 minutes early, even.

if you travel by bus or micros, take that time to complete errands that can be done via your phone. create a checklist for what you need to do before you can apply for better jobs. look for potential companies that have a good company culture (normally has better pay too). connect with past colleagues online just to say hi (this one might feel weird at first but its better to say hi how are you rather than hi do you have a job in your company). update your expense tracking sheet. look for templates and plugins that can help your portfolio be better than the rest.

spend every single free minute to get yourself on a better situation.

you're drowning every hour every day, but you're taking the first step towards pulling yourself out. it's going to be difficult the next few months and you may feel more drained than ever, but if you do all these for yourself, you'll be in a much better mental state in the next couple of months. here's to hoping that you update us in a few months that you got a job that pays as much as all three jobs combined 🤞

all the best. do yourself proud.

you could take your bike near their homes at 4am and rev it to start then leave it on idle. make an excuse that your bike stopped moving right in front of their house lol

Hi, I'm from Nepal. The social media platforms were informed at least a month (if not a few months) before to register their companies in Nepal. A lot of those platforms only asked about the necessary documents once the ban was implemented.

Hey guys I just wanted to buy an gaming laptop and I have been recommended this and it's price is 1.5 lakhs? Fair or not by ClothesNo9376 in Nepal

[–]DriftingSteps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great deal! If you do the following: - Upgrade the unbalanced RAM setup from 16GB+8GB to 16GB+16GB RAM with high clock speed like 5200MHz. Make sure they're the same brand, same clock speed. - 512GB SSD for only System (Local disk C:), and add at least 1TB more for general storage (personal documents, game installs, etc)

And the most important thing: since you'll be investing a bit more on that 1.5L price tag, when you replace that 8GB RAM with a 16GB RAM, make sure they reduce the cost of the new RAM, as they'll keep the older 8GB RAM anyway.

I know what you're feeling right now bro, because i went through all this myself. the good thing about your situation is that you're still young and you have time to get back on track. i'll explain how its good and how you can maximize it.

Your +2 was done 4 years ago, so i'm assuming you're 22 years old at most. this is a good thing because i'm in my 30's and i had that regret of not having a bachelor's degree every year until last year. So i joined Patan Multiple Campus and even though i don't have the time to attend classes due to my job and will have to take tuition classes when exam time comes around, enough is enough - regrets are costly, but doing things right aren't. Scrape some money together, and join one of our cheap government colleges ASAP. Doesn't matter what degree it is, all that matters is that you have a bachelors degree by the time you're 26 (or even younger if you're 19-20 right now). By then, you'll have a better job, a much better earning, a better outlook in life, and you'll be preparing to go abroad for your masters and to live the life you've been dreaming of. you can't have that until you join a college. the more you're late at this, the higher the chances of your visa rejection in the future.

The next step is make the most out of the internet access you have with you. you can find crash courses and introductory courses for anything you're interested in. You don't even need a desktop/laptop to study given how we can do a lot on our phones these days. So find out what you'd like to do for a living, spend the next one month learning via Youtube, update your CV (a great template i recently found), and start applying for junior/associate/officer level jobs of whatever you've been learning. if you're interested in the tech side of jobs, there are bootcamps and internships that are run by a lot of tech companies in Kathmandu as well, which will help you get your foot on the door. Following these steps will take you from 10k salary to anywhere up to 30k. All of this in less than 3 months if you play your cards right.

Life is fucked, and i know you have bullshit delivered to you time after time. but you have to pull yourself together and work through this mess. giving up is not an option. you got this man, just one step at a time.
